Nghe An Martial Arts Federation Congress, term 2013 - 2018

(Baonghean.vn) -On the afternoon of October 20, Nghe An Martial Arts Federation held the Congress for the 2013-2018 term.

The congress aims to review the performance results in the period 2005 - 2012, discuss the direction of activities and propose more effective solutions for the period 2013 - 2018 and the following years.

The evaluation report at the congress said that martial arts is a sport that attracts a large number of people to practice, especially young people. Currently, in our province, there are 40 martial arts clubs operating regularly, including 24 Karate clubs, 8 Traditional Martial Arts clubs, 8 Vovinam clubs, each club has from 25 to 30 students (in the summer, the number of students in the clubs increases to over 50 students).

Martial arts in recent years have also contributed many gold, silver and bronze medals to Nghe An's high-performance sports. From 2005 to 2010, the Provincial Sports Training Center had 6 martial arts disciplines trained to participate in national sports competitions, including: Karatedo, Taewondo, Wushu, Pencat silat, Traditional martial arts, Boxing with a total of 80 athletes. From 2011 to present, the Provincial Sports Training Center has added Kick-boxing, bringing the total number of martial arts disciplines in Nghe An's high-performance sports to 7 disciplines with 100 athletes. The Provincial Sports Training Center is proposing to add Vovinam to the high-performance sports training program to participate in domestic and international tournaments.

Delegates attending the Congress discussed and contributed many ideas to promote martial arts training in Nghe An, and at the same time found solutions for Nghe An martial arts athletes to gain more achievements for high-performance sports in Nghe An.
