2nd Congress of Arts and Culture of Ethnic Minorities in Nghe An Province
(Baonghean.vn) - On July 19, 2014, in Vinh City, the Nghe An Branch of the Association of Arts and Culture of Ethnic Minorities held its second term congress (2014-2019). Attending the congress were representatives from the Vietnam Association of Arts and Culture of Ethnic Minorities, leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and members of the branch.

Established in 2008, the Nghe An Branch of the Association of Arts and Culture of Ethnic Minorities serves as a gathering place for members, fostering solidarity, promoting creativity, and aiming to preserve and promote ethnic cultural identity, contributing to building and promoting the image of their homeland. Currently, the branch has 18 members (13 of whom are from the Thai and Tho ethnic groups, and 5 are from the Kinh ethnic group). Over the years, many members have dedicated their time, effort, and intellect to collecting, researching, and creating valuable works that reflect life and are deeply imbued with ethnic identity.

The Congress adopted the report summarizing the 2008-2014 term, reviewed the Executive Committee of the Branch Association's first term, and discussed and provided feedback on the direction and tasks for the 2014-2019 period. The central task is to focus on innovation, overcoming difficulties, maintaining close ties with the mountainous ethnic minority areas, and continuing to build and develop the culture and arts of ethnic minorities in Nghe An to meet the demands of the new era.

The Congress elected a new Executive Committee consisting of 5 members, with Mr. Vi Tan Hoi as the Branch Chairman. The Congress also elected 8 delegates to attend the 5th Congress of Arts and Culture of Ethnic Minorities in Vietnam, which will be held in December 2014.
