The 2nd Congress of Literature and Arts of Ethnic Minorities in Nghe An Province
(Baonghean.vn) - On July 19, 2014, in Vinh City, the Nghe An Ethnic Minorities Literature and Arts Association held its second congress (2014-2019). Attending the congress were representatives of the Vietnam Ethnic Minorities Literature and Arts Association, leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and members of the association.

Established in 2008, the Nghe An Ethnic Minority Literature and Arts Association is a place to gather members, build solidarity, promote creativity, aim to preserve and promote national cultural identity, contribute to building and promoting the image of the homeland. Currently, the association has 18 members (of which 13 are Thai, Tho, 5 are Kinh). In recent times, many members have spent time, effort and intelligence to collect, research and create valuable works, breathing life and imbued with identity.

The Congress approved the summary report of the 2008-2014 term, reviewed the first term of the Association Executive Committee and discussed and gave comments on the directions and tasks for the 2014-2019 period. In particular, the key task is to innovate, create, overcome difficulties, stay close to the ethnic mountainous areas, continue to build and develop the culture and arts of ethnic minorities in Nghe An to match the tasks of the new period.

The Congress elected a new Executive Committee of 5 members, with Mr. Vi Tan Hoi as Branch Chairman. The Congress also elected 8 delegates to attend the 5th Congress of Literature and Arts of Ethnic Minorities of Vietnam, which was held in December 2014.
