Buddha's Birthday Celebration at Au Lac Ancient Temple (Vinh City)
On the evening of May 4th (corresponding to the 7th day of the 4th lunar month), the grand celebration of Buddha's Birthday 2025 - Buddhist calendar 2569 - was solemnly held at Au Lac Ancient Temple (Da Pagoda), Hung Loc Ward, Vinh City.
Attending the ceremony were Venerable Thich Dong Tue – Abbot of Au Lac Ancient Temple, representatives of local leaders, along with other Venerable monks and nuns and a large number of Buddhists from near and far.
At the ceremony, Venerable Thich Dong Tue read the Buddha's Birthday Message for 2025 – Buddhist Calendar 2569 from the Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Association, the Venerable Thich Tri Quang.
The message clearly states: History has deeply imprinted the immense contributions of Buddhism in the thousands of years of nation-building and national defense.VietnameseBuddhism has always been integrated into the national cultural flow, accompanying the country through all periods of history.
The Buddhist philosophy of unity and tolerance has contributed to shaping the cultural identity and spiritual strength of national solidarity. These values have fostered patriotism, altruism, compassion, respect for righteousness, sharing, and the tradition of "helping those in need" among the Vietnamese people.
Unity is an invaluable legacy and a sacred tradition of the Vietnamese people; it is the source of strength that has helped the country overcome all challenges and achieve glorious victories throughout its long history.
Vietnam – a country with a long-standing Buddhist tradition, always closely associated with the cause of national construction and development – is honored to host the 2025 Vesak Grand Celebration in the joyful atmosphere of commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Great Victory of Spring 1975 and the reunification of the country.
