Ambassador Vikram Misri warned China not to change the status quo on the border between the two countries by sending armed forces there.

Peace and tranquility on the India-China border is a prerequisite for progress in bilateral relations, Indian Ambassador to China Vikram Misri said in a recent press interview.

The Indian diplomatic representative expressed a direct attitude towards China's actions of destabilizing and violating Indian territory over the past month, directly leading to the bloody conflict between soldiers of the two countries on the night of June 15.

TIn an interview published by Indian media on June 26, Ambassador Vikram Misri warned China not to change the status quo on the border between the two countries by mobilizing armed forces there.

This not only undermines the peace that exists on the border but also “creates tension and has repercussions” on the broader bilateral relationship. New Delhi has asked Beijing to stop its activities in the eastern part of the Indian union territory of Ladakh.

The only solution to the current standoff along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) is for Beijing to realise that “trying to change the status quo by using force or coercion is not the right way”, Mr Misri said.

Indian Ambassador Vikram Misri pointed out that China must immediately stop obstructing the normal patrolling of the Indian Army. “The actions of Chinese forces on the ground in Eastern Ladakh have significantly damaged the trust” in the bilateral relationship. It is China’s responsibility to take a close look at this relationship and decide where the relationship between the two countries should go,” Ambassador Misri said.

Mr. Misri also stressed that China's sovereignty claims over the Galwan Valley were "completely baseless" and such exaggerated claims did not help resolve the situation.

On its part, India is very well aware of the continuity and continuity of the LAC in the Galwan Valley. The Indian Army has been patrolling these areas for a long time.

Refuting the statement of Chinese Ambassador to India Sun Weidong on June 25 that the responsibility for reducing tensions lies with India, Ambassador Misri said that India has always been clear and consistent in its views on the current situation. That is, China's actions such as mobilizing military forces to the border over the past time have caused the current situation./.
