US Ambassador pledges to connect and promote investment in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - There are currently 2 US projects investing in Nghe An with a total investment of nearly 8 million USD, creating jobs for 2,500 workers.
On the morning of March 14, within the framework of his visit and work in Nghe An, US Ambassador to Vietnam Daniel J. Kritenbrink had a meeting with provincial leaders.
Welcoming and working with the Ambassador were comrades: Thai Thanh Quy - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Le Ngoc Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of leaders of provincial departments, branches and sectors.
Potential advantages of Nghe An
At the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Thai Thanh Quy quickly reported on the socio-economic development, foreign affairs and international integration, investment attraction... of Nghe An province.
As the province with the largest area and the 4th largest population in the country, Nghe An has a synchronously invested transport infrastructure system with all types: aviation, railway, road and waterway. Nghe An has 82 km of coastline, the province with the longest border with Laos in the country. Nghe An is known as a homeland with a tradition of studiousness and good learning.

In recent years, the province has paid great attention to and promoted investment promotion activities. In particular, regarding cooperation with the United States, there are currently 2 investment projects in Nghe An with a total investment of nearly 8 million USD, creating jobs for 2,500 workers.
In 2018, Nghe An's export turnover to the US market reached 18.8 million USD, with main products being rice, paving stones, textiles, handicrafts, etc.
Thanking the US Ambassador for his concern for Nghe An shown through this visit and work, the head of the provincial government wished Ambassador Kritenbrink interesting and meaningful experiences during his stay in Nghe An.

Committed to being a bridge to promote cooperation
Receiving a warm and hospitable welcome from the provincial leaders, Mr. Daniel J. Kritenbrink thanked the province for giving him a wonderful and impressive experience when visiting the Emperor Quang Trung Temple; and expressed his honor to soon visit President Ho Chi Minh's hometown within the framework of his working trip.
Sharing his pride in his work in contributing to promoting the friendly and cooperative relationship between Vietnam and the United States, Mr. Daniel J. Kritenbrink said that the bilateral relationship between the two countries is at its best time ever.
In the field of trade, Vietnam is an important partner of the United States. For US businesses, Vietnam is a potential partner for US businesses to seek investment in healthcare, technology, education, etc. In the field of security, the two sides are cooperating closely.

In the field of Education and Training, according to Mr. Daniel J. Kritenbrink, there are currently 30,000 Vietnamese students studying in the United States. Currently, the United States has programs to send teachers to teach at schools in Vietnam.
In addition, Mr. Dainiel J. Kritenbrink added that the United States has also cooperated with Vietnam in the field of health, especially in disease prevention; HIV prevention and treatment. On this occasion, Mr. Dainiel J. Kritenbrink congratulated Nghe An province for being the first province to implement health insurance payment for HIV patients.

Also at the meeting, Ambassador Kritenbrink affirmed that the United States is committed to resolving the consequences of war, supporting Vietnam in all areas, including cooperation in national defense and security, improving Vietnam's capacity to enforce law at sea; humanitarian programs, medical support, etc.
Through this visit, the Ambassador hopes to continue to expand cooperation with Vietnam in all aspects, and hopes to find ways to cooperate in investment between the United States and Vietnam in general, and Nghe An in particular. Ambassador Daniel J. Kritenbrink affirmed that he will connect with friends and colleagues of US businesses to promote investment in Nghe An in various fields.
In response to the US Ambassador's sharing, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Thai Thanh Quy expressed his joy at the picture of the increasingly developing relationship between the two countries, many fields and contents have been closely cooperated by the two countries from investment cooperation to culture, resolving the consequences of war, joining hands to overcome major diseases.
He also thanked the Ambassador for his proposals on cooperation areas in Nghe An province, especially the investment field. After concluding his visit and working session in Nghe An, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hoped that the Ambassador would introduce more investors to Nghe An in the fields of high-tech agriculture; electronics assembly, auto parts, telecommunications, tourism, education and training, etc.
