Japanese Embassy warns about scams about working and studying in Japan

(Baonghean.vn) - Diplomatic officers of the Japanese Embassy warn that if dispatching companies say that you can work in Japan with a tourist visa, or that you can change it to a work visa later, then these are definitely scams.

On the afternoon of April 26, the Embassy of Japan in coordination with the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Nghe An province organized a seminar to provide accurate information about studying and working in Japan. This is a sideline activity of the program "Meeting Nghe An-Japan: Cooperation and Development".

At the workshop, the representative of the Japanese Embassy briefly presented the points to note and the conditions for residence status to work in Japan. Accordingly, the diplomatic staff of the Japanese Embassy emphasized that to go to Japan, you need a visa, and if you go for work, you need a long-term visa. If dispatching companies say that you can work in Japan with a tourist visa, or that you can change it to a work visa later, then these are definitely cases of fraud.

The three basic residence statuses to be able to work in Japan include: Technical Internship; Technical/Humanities/International Professional; Special Skills. Those who wish to work in Japan should note that the dispatch fee for technical interns is a maximum of 3,600 USD for a 3-year labor contract.

Representatives of the Japanese Embassy also discussed thoroughly with students attending the seminar about issues surrounding studying abroad in Japan, introduced schools to choose from when studying abroad, what to prepare for studying abroad, types of scholarships, and emphasized the importance of learning Japanese...

The Japanese Embassy reminds students not to listen to the enticements in advertisements such as "Studying and working part-time will earn 60 million VND per month", "Each hour of working part-time will earn 600 thousand VND", "During the time studying abroad, the income from part-time work will cover all tuition fees and you can also send money back home", "First pay more than 200 million VND to study at a Japanese language school, after graduation you can easily study at a university in Japan and get a scholarship"...

The agency warns that, in fact, many cases have been defrauded and have had to bear a large debt.
