North Korean Ambassador: US Deploys Nuclear Weapons to Overthrow Kim Jong-un

North Korea's ambassador to the United Nations, Ja Song-nam, on October 3 accused the United States of "economic blockade" against his country and deploying nuclear weapons on the Korean peninsula to overthrow leader Kim Jong-un.

Speaking before the UN General Assembly, Mr. Ja Song-nam also said that the US's push for countries to enforce what he called "illegal and unreasonable" UN sanctions on North Korea was part of "a (US) mad attempt to completely blockade our peaceful economy."

"The United States is pursuing unprecedented nuclear threats, sanctions and economic blockades to deny our right to exist and develop, but those only lead to our greater vigilance and courage," Ja Song-nam stressed.
