(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 17, the Ministry of National Defense held a ceremony to honor 127 typical advanced soldiers in the entire army. These are officers and soldiers who have had outstanding achievements and feats in 3 years of implementing the Campaign "Promoting tradition, dedicating talent, worthy of being Uncle Ho's soldiers".

General Ngo Xuan Lich - Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense attended and delivered a speech at the ceremony.

Also attending were leaders of central departments and branches; generals working in the Vietnam People's Army.

In 2013, the Central Military Commission (Ministry of National Defense) launched the Campaign "Promoting tradition, dedicating talent, worthy of being Uncle Ho's soldiers" in the Party organization of the army and the entire army. After 3 years of implementation, the campaign has been deployed comprehensively and synchronously; it is truly a unique and typical feature in the movement to study and follow Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, demonstrating the high political responsibility of the Army before the Party, State and people.

Speaking at the ceremony, General Ngo Xuan Lich affirmed: "The meeting has profound political significance when it is held in Nghe An - the Soviet homeland with a rich revolutionary tradition, the birthplace of beloved President Ho Chi Minh, National Liberation Hero, World Cultural Celebrity, Beloved Father of the Vietnam People's Armed Forces".

Congratulating and praising the great achievements and feats of the typical examples honored in this period, the Minister of National Defense assessed: These typical advanced examples contribute to positive changes in fostering knowledge, ideology, and revolutionary sentiment; arousing and multiplying the noble qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers; contributing to beautifying the glorious tradition of the Vietnam People's Army.

General Ngo Xuan Lich highly appreciated the role and responsibility of Party committees, commanders, political commissars, political officers, and political agencies at all levels who have always been active, proactive, creative, and exemplary in leading, directing, and implementing the movement, making it a real driving force for the entire army to excellently complete its tasks.

On behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, General Ngo Xuan Lich requested leaders and commanders at all levels in the Army and officers and soldiers of the entire army to continue to thoroughly grasp the purpose and meaning of the Movement; raise awareness; promote the self-awareness and sense of responsibility of officers and soldiers of the entire army in implementing the Movement; bring the Movement to a new level, widely in agencies and units; truly be one of the great driving forces, contributing to building a strong Army Party organization in politics, ideology, organization and ethics; worthy of being one of the leading units in studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh.
