(Baonghean.vn) -Just because Mr. N. did not agree to go sing karaoke after a drinking session, Tuan took a knife and slashed the other person's dangerous area many times. For this action, Tuan had to pay the price with a sentence of the law.
Nghe An Provincial People's Court has just opened a trial of defendant Tran Dinh Tuan (born 1996), residing in Tan Huong commune, Tan Ky district, for the crime of "Murder".
According to case records, at around 11:30 a.m. on May 18, 2023, Tran Dinh Tuan and a group of friends, including Le Van N. (born in 1992), ate at a restaurant in Tan Ky town, Tan Ky district.
At 3:00 p.m. the same day, Tuan and Mr. N. had a conflict about going to karaoke together.
Because he was upset that Mr. N. did not sing and thought that he had an attitude towards him, Tuan went to the back of the kitchen area to get a knife.

When returning to the dining room, Tuan continued to invite everyone at the table to stop drinking and go sing karaoke, but Mr. N. continued to refuse. At this time, Tuan immediately stood up, grabbed a knife and slashed Mr. N.'s neck. Although the people present tried to stop him, Tuan continued to slash Mr. N.'s head.
After being slashed, Mr. N. ran away and was later taken to the hospital for emergency treatment. Authorities determined that the victim suffered 28% bodily injury.
That same evening, Tran Dinh Tuan was arrested by the police in an emergency to investigate murder.
It is known that in March 2023, Tuan was administratively punished for disturbing public order.
At the trial, the defendant admitted to the crime. Tuan stated that while eating at the seafood restaurant, due to a conflict about going to karaoke together and Mr. N.'s attitude towards him, the defendant became upset.
The defendant realized that it was a wrongdoing, expressed remorse and hoped the court would consider reducing his sentence so that he could soon return to rebuild his life and raise his two young children with his wife.
The panel of judges determined that the defendant’s actions were illegal and hooligan. Because of a petty conflict, the defendant used a knife to slash the victim. The victim survived because he received timely emergency care, so he should be severely punished.
Considering the case as a whole, the panel sentenced defendant Tran Dinh Tuan to 12 years and 6 months in prison for murder.
