(Baonghean)- Recently, in some provinces and cities across the country, there have been marches, strikes, and demonstrations by workers, leading to extremist actions such as arson and destruction of factories and workshops, causing heavy losses to investors. However, in Nghe An, with proactive leadership in handling the situation, all levels and sectors have promptly implemented solutions to ensure absolute safety for the production and business activities of enterprises, as well as the property and lives of people.

To prevent investors and businesses from becoming confused or worried, immediately after the workers' protests and disturbances occurred in some localities, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee proactively directed the handling of the situation. It instructed the Provincial People's Committee to issue numerous documents directing localities and units to take measures to ensure absolute safety for the production and business activities of enterprises, as well as the property and lives of foreigners living, working, and studying in the area. Leaders of the Provincial People's Committee and relevant departments and agencies met with businesses to disseminate information and encourage them and their workers to continue production and business activities with peace of mind, while also urging workers not to participate in illegal marches and protests. The province is committed to ensuring the safety of both domestic and foreign investors. At the same time, the Provincial Police, the Provincial Military Command, and other relevant agencies were instructed to strengthen intelligence gathering, protect internal security, and proactively detect and handle, in accordance with the law, individuals who exploit or incite protesters to disrupt or commit illegal acts.

Security forces performed their duties well, deploying plans and strategies to prevent any marches or demonstrations that could affect security and order in the province. Simultaneously, they coordinated with relevant localities, actively implementing operational measures to neutralize the schemes of some reactionary organizations, and promptly prevented the distribution of leaflets at factories in industrial zones. Officials and employees of the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board organized propaganda activities and distributed leaflets in workers' dormitories about the Party and State's policies and directions regarding the East Sea situation and the Prime Minister's directive not to participate in illegal demonstrations that disrupt social order and security.

Nghe An province has an attractive investment environment for both domestic and foreign investors. Currently, the province has over 240 investment projects, including 11 foreign-invested projects. Of these 11 foreign-invested projects, 7 are from China, 3 from Thailand, and 1 from South Korea. The majority of workers are concentrated in three industrial zones: Hoang Mai Industrial Zone, Bac Vinh Industrial Zone, and Nam Cam Industrial Zone, employing approximately 2,500 workers in foreign-invested enterprises, including about 1,100 workers in Chinese-invested enterprises. As of early June 2014, Nghe An had over 60 foreign nationals working in the province.

After discovering that some businesses, such as Matric and Hong Lai Gas Lighters, had leaflets inciting workers to protest, authorities focused on preventing and disseminating information to workers to avoid illegal demonstrations. The provincial police deployed forces to regularly protect businesses, urging workers not to gather and disrupt traffic. Domestic businesses held departmental meetings to brief staff and workers, proactively disseminating information about the situation in the East Sea to prevent factionalism and property damage. Businesses also increased 24/7 security to ensure normal production and business operations.

Provincial and district leaders regularly inspect and encourage the company, especially regarding security and order, so we are very satisfied and feel secure investing, working, and living in Nghe An. The incident in the East Sea is something we absolutely did not want. We only hope for peace, cooperation, and development. As individuals and business representatives, we hope that the two countries will resolve the issue through peaceful means.”

Not only are security and order being prioritized for foreign-invested factories, but domestic businesses are also being ensured safety in their production and investment activities at this time.

The province regularly directs industrial parks, relevant agencies, and localities to effectively implement this, building trust among investors. Nghe An is one of the localities highly praised by the Government for its proactive approach in ensuring security, order, and stable production in recent times. The province's consistent viewpoint is to always support and accompany businesses through policies and mechanisms that encourage investment attraction, create a transparent legal framework, and ensure security and order in the best possible way.”
