Ensuring ATM service quality on the occasion of April 30 - May 1

The State Bank of Vietnam has just requested to ensure service quality, security and safety of ATMs, especially during the upcoming long holidays of April 30 and May 1.

Accordingly, the State Bank requires card issuers and card payment organizations to direct and rectify units related to the organization and operation of ATM networks, strictly comply with the provisions of Circular No. 36/2012/TT-NHNN (especially fund receiving, incident handling, investigation and complaint settlement), proactively plan to arrange ATM care staff, continuously improve the quality of ATM services, avoid running out of money or stopping service during the upcoming April 30 and May 1 holidays.

At the same time, review, inspect, maintain and service the ATM system and equipment equipped at the ATM to ensure the quality, security and safety of the ATM, meeting the regulations in Circular No. 47/2014/TT-NHNN; coordinate with the police, security forces and local order in the prevention and combat of ATM-related crimes; strengthen measures to protect and monitor ATMs (especially night-time protection measures) to prevent crimes from destroying ATMs during the holidays, causing negative impacts on banking operations; proactively monitor and promptly respond to public feedback on issues arising in the ATM operations of the unit.

The State Bank also requested that the State Bank branches in provinces and centrally-run cities strengthen inspection and monitoring of the operation, security and safety of ATM systems in the area, ensure strict implementation of the provisions in Circular No. 36/2012/TT-NHNN, Circular No. 47/2014/TT-NHNN of the Governor of the State Bank and strictly handle violations of ATM operations in the area.

In addition, direct card issuers and payment organizations in the area to arrange sufficient structures and cash amounts to ensure good service for cash disbursement and ATM fund replenishment needs; closely monitor information and incidents related to ATM service quality reflected in the media and direct relevant units to respond to the press on the results of handling the incident, and at the same time report to the State Bank; direct card issuers and card payment organizations in the area to increase vigilance against criminal methods and tricks and take appropriate measures to prevent and combat crimes, ensure ATM security and safety.
