Stabbed drinking buddy to death after a new meal

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of February 29, Nghe An Provincial People's Court opened a first-instance criminal trial against Pay Van Dau (born in 1994), residing in Yen Tinh commune, Tuong Duong district, for murder.

Accordingly, at around 7:00 p.m. on October 17, Mr. Luong Van Vinh (born in 1975), residing in Cha Lum village, Yen Tinh commune (Tuong Duong) organized a new rice celebration and invited everyone in the village to attend. While everyone was drinking happily, Pay Van Dau and Lo Van Tu (born in 1995), residing in the same village, had a conflict that led to a fight.

Seeing the two people arguing, everyone present intervened and drove them both home. However, Dau was still angry, so he called Tu to come to his house to talk. Receiving Dau's call while he was drunk and his anger had not yet subsided, Tu immediately drove to Dau's house. When he arrived at the door, he saw Dau waiting for him, so Tu jumped out of the car and continued to beat Dau. When Tu rushed in to beat him, Dau used the sword he had hidden in his person to stab Tu in the stomach, causing Tu to collapse on the spot and die shortly after.

In court, defendant Dau admitted to all his actions. The panel sentenced Pay Van Dau to 12 years in prison for murder and ordered him to compensate the victim's family with more than 75 million VND.
