At around 7:30 p.m., the wedding party began. A giant cake was suspended in the middle of the wedding hall, making the guests gasp in surprise. The couple took turns toasting their parents. In European style, both families only made brief speeches to start the party. The groom's mother wished her two sons "100 years of happiness, harmony of color and music". The bride's father, on behalf of the bride's family, thanked the guests for coming and presented the two sons with a poem he had composed.
