Dam Vinh Hung: 'If I have the throne, I will give it to Duong Trieu Vu'

Dam Vinh Hung gave his younger brother a self-embroidered pillow and promised Duong Trieu Vu's parents that he would take care of him for the rest of his life.

The music party celebrating the friendship of Dam Vinh Hung and Duong Trieu Vu took place on the evening of May 15 with the participation of 100 guests.

The space filled with candlelight and flowers helped close friends Dam Vinh Hung and Duong Trieu Vu comfortably open their hearts to share happy and sad memories from the first days they met. The reason why the singer of "Choi voi trong con dau" (Wandering in pain) received the kind help of the "King of Vietnamese music" upon returning to Vietnam is considered a fateful relationship.

According to Mr. Dam, Duong Trieu Vu returned to Vietnam at the age of 18 to film a music video clip to keep as a souvenir. Hoai Linh's younger brother admitted that at that time he was only impressed with singer Quang Dung's voice and did not like Dam Vinh Hung. However, during their first meeting at a tea room in 2002, hearing his senior's lyrical voice, Duong Trieu Vu was "struck by lightning" and... followed Dam Vinh Hung.

Discovering Duong Trieu Vu's good voice, Dam Vinh Hung convinced the male comedian's family to let him enter the singing career. From then on, Vietnamese showbiz had Cu Tin - the family name of the "squinty-eyed prince".

Dam Vinh Hung revealed that the two have a strange understanding, not only in music taste and dress style but also in daily activities.

Although he accompanied and contributed a significant part to Cu Tin's success, the male singer Say Tinh always had words of admiration for his junior's voice and efforts. To commemorate their friendship and colleagueship of nearly 15 years, Dam Vinh Hung also unexpectedly gave Duong Trieu Vu a pillowcase that he had embroidered and meticulously decorated with flowers. He also expressed his wish that this soft keepsake would accompany his close junior, helping him to no longer have uncertainties on his life path in the future.

Mr. Dam declared that from now on, he will take care of Duong Trieu Vu on behalf of Hoai Linh's parents and promised to love his student. "If I have the throne, I will give it to Duong Trieu Vu," said Dam Vinh Hung.

Many friends and colleagues also shared many memories about the couple. Ho Ngoc Ha said she admired the 15-year relationship between the two colleagues. She shared that she did not think a star like Dam Vinh Hung could sit in the middle of the airport and arrange flowers on a pillow to give to Duong Trieu Vu like that.
