Damascus says US and Israel will not achieve their goal of attacking Syria
The United States and Israel are trying to prolong the conflict with strikes against Syria, but they will not be able to achieve their goals as before - Syrian Assistant Foreign Minister Ayman Susan stated.

A Syrian military source said earlier that Israeli military aircraft fired several missiles at the outskirts of Damascus on Saturday evening. Syrian air defenses shot down most of the missiles, with only one warehouse in the area of the Syrian capital's international airport being damaged. Damascus has once again formally requested the UN to take measures to prevent repeated Israeli attacks. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said at a government meeting on Sunday that the Israeli air force had recently carried out attacks against "Iranian targets" in Syria.
"The United States or Israel cannot justify this with any argument or justification. This is aggression in the full sense of the word. With these attacks, they will still not achieve what they could not achieve before in Syria. With such actions, they only want to escalate the situation and prolong the conflict, complicating the situation in the Syrian Republic," Susan said at a press conference organized by the Syrian Foreign Ministry.
According to him, the United States and Israel do not want to admit that their "project" was unsuccessful due to the defeat of terrorist groups.
