Living near the sea, after Tet, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong in Quynh Bang commune brings her tools to the sea to hunt for seafood specialties. With a stick cut in half and clamped to a thin iron bar, Ms. Huong can hunt 5-7 kg of clams per day, earning 200-300 thousand VND/day.

Clams are mollusks with two shells, living mainly in the sea and hidden under the sand; to hunt them, people have to hold a tool and walk backwards and scratch the sand, until they hear a "clack" sound, then they can easily hit the clam.
Before and after Tet, clams were scarce because there were no hunters, so many restaurants sought to buy them; therefore, the selling price was also pushed up. From 20,000 VND/kg before Tet, the price has now increased to 40,000 - 50,000 VND/kg but there is still no stock to buy.
