Apartment residents stay up all night to move things to avoid flooding

(Baonghean.vn) - Many apartment buildings in Vinh city were submerged after a historic rain on the night of October 9. People had to wade through the water to move their belongings.

At the Green View apartment building in Le Loi ward (Vinh city), there are 2 buildings A and B, of which area B is social housing. The heavy rain forced residents in the residential area to stay up all night carrying their belongings to escape the flood. All apartments on the first floor were submerged in water up to 0.6m deep.

In the apartment yard, cars were also submerged in water up to half the body.

Ms. VA, who lives in this apartment building, said this is not the first time the apartment building has been flooded. Almost every time it rains heavily, residents have to flee the flood.

As of 8am on October 10, the water had not yet receded, so the elderly and children were forced to stay at a neighbor's house in a higher location.
