The Ministry of Industry and Trade has just continued to have the third draft of the project 'Improving state management capacity for beer production and trading activities', in which it proposes to stick beer stamps to prevent counterfeit goods and increase budget revenue.

According to the assessment of the Ministry of Industry, there are 119 beer production facilities nationwide, with an average output of 20-25 million liters per facility per year. In 2016, the output reached 3.78 billion liters of beer, with total contribution to the state budget reaching about 30,000 billion VND.

However, the situation of smuggled beer, fake beer production, especially commercial fraud leads to budget losses. The difference between the declared taxable beer output and the actual output is from 7 - 10%. With the total budget revenue in 2016 from beer products of 30,000 billion VND, the lost revenue is 2,000 - 3,000 billion VND.

Therefore, the Department of Industry proposes to implement the application of high-security anti-counterfeit stamps (labels) on each beer product. When stamping, the risk of reusing beer labels is impossible.
