(Baonghean.vn) - The electricity is too weak and often out, so people in some communes in Thanh Chuong district (Nghe An) have to use 'areca leaf electric fans'.to dispel the summer heat.

The weather has been hot these past few days, in the yard of Mr. Le Van Ba - the owner of a nursery in Hamlet 11, Thanh My Commune (Thanh Chuong), the air is stuffy because of power outages, or the electricity is weak, the electric fan cannot rotate, the palm leaf fan is not enough, so everyone is tired because of the heat. Meanwhile, there are many customers from districts in the province and Ha Tinh coming to buy seedlings.

Faced with the prolonged situation of low electricity, Mr. Le Van Ba came up with an initiative that households growing seedlings must take turns watering the plants; when one household waters, the other households must turn off all electrical equipment.

This initiative was later adopted by some residential areas, but household needs always require electricity, so this method cannot serve long-term life.

Not far from Mr. Ba's house, Mr. Le Van Dung was working hard to fix a water pump. The reason was that to have enough electricity to pump water, he used two hot phases at the same time, causing the voltage to suddenly increase, causing the machine to burn out.

Coming to the electrical panel system and the Lioa, Mr. Dung explained: "The electricity is weak all year round, so I have to pull all 3 phases. Currently, only 1 phase reaches 150V, the other phase is only 10V. To have enough electricity to pump water and use other electrical equipment, I risked short-circuiting 2 phases into one, if the voltage suddenly increases, the equipment will burn. There was a year when my house burned 3 or 4 pumps, but I had to accept it."

Lacking electricity, the scene of hanging hammocks in the yard and fanning the children to sleep, cooking rice with a gas stove or eating rice in the yard under the light of a battery lamp is a daily occurrence in hamlet 11, Thanh My commune.

The shortage of electricity for daily life does not only occur in Thanh My commune, but also in Thanh Phong commune, many households have to live with "unstable" electricity, causing many inconveniences in family life. According to people's feedback, the time from 9-12 noon, especially from 15-20 pm is the time when the electricity is weakest; many families have to invest 2-3 million VND to buy voltage stabilizers for use.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Ngoc - Party Secretary, Chairman of Thanh Phong Commune People's Council, people are very upset because of the poor quality of electricity.

In addition to the cooling equipment not working, in many villages and hamlets, people have to cook rice from early morning, and the harvested rice and corn have to be threshed overnight by taking turns to divide the electricity.

After building roads according to new rural standards, many electric poles were covered, the power lines were low and very dangerous. Currently, there is a line in village 1B that is still in the same condition as when it was first built more than 20 years ago: temporary bamboo and wooden poles and exposed wires, which is very dangerous.

Talking to us about the above situation, Mr. Ngu Van Chuong - Director of Thanh Chuong Electricity said that the reason for the lack of electricity in some hamlets of Thanh My and Thanh Phong communes is that the power lines have been degraded for a long time. The electricity sector has just taken over the management and does not have enough resources to thoroughly resolve the problems. As for hamlet 11, Thanh My commune, the unit has completed the documents to build a transformer station in the hamlet center but has not yet implemented it due to lack of funds.

In the immediate future, Thanh Chuong Electricity is installing a 4,000 KVA transformer station at the intersection of Hanh Lam commune to increase power supply for the entire region, including hamlet 11, Thanh My commune. The unit will fix other areas according to the set plan.
