Offering 2.5 tons of Chung cake on Hung King's death anniversary

Dam Sen Cultural Park (HCMC) is planning to make a giant banh chung to offer incense in the upcoming Hung Kings' death anniversary ceremony.

Specifically, the Ancestor Worship Ceremony will be held by Dam Sen at 8:00 a.m. on April 16 on the Au Lac Square stage in the park.

In addition to the typical products of the Southern region, the offerings from Dam Sen Park to the National Ancestor this year also include a 2.5-ton banh chung cake, wrapped and cooked at the park.

According to information from Dam Sen, to wrap this giant cake, you need 1,200 kg of sticky rice, 300 kg of mung beans, 200 kg of pork, 300 kg of banana leaves, and 50 kg of dong leaves. 50 artisans will wrap the cake together on the afternoon of April 13. The cake is boiled for 70 hours.

After the ceremony to worship the National Ancestor, the giant banh chung will be cut and offered to all visitors. Because the cake weighs up to 2.5 tons, it is enough for more than 1,000 people to enjoy.

Currently, Dam Sen Park is completing the preparation stages, ready to make this special banh chung.
