Communist Party of Vietnam promotes relations with Russian political parties

At the invitation of the Just Russia Party, a delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam led by Mr. Nguyen Tuan Phong, Deputy Head of the Central Committee's External Relations Commission, attended the international conference "A united response to global challenges - the path to a fair world" at the International Trade Center in Moscow, Russia, on April 26-27.

Politicians, social activists, representatives of the scientific community from more than 35 countries around the world, along with hundreds of Russian activists and scientists attended the conference. Chairman of the State Duma (lower house) of Russia Sergey Naryshkin and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov sent their congratulations to the conference.

In the plenary session, on behalf of the delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Phong delivered a speech that was highly appreciated by the delegates attending the conference. The speech included: "2015 is the year that all progressive forces in the world celebrate the 70th anniversary of the victory over fascism. The great victory of the Soviet people and Red Army together with the people and allied forces in the world has an extremely great historical significance, saving humanity from the disaster of genocide, becoming a solid stronghold of the socialist system in the 20th century. From the lessons of World War II, we have an even greater responsibility for protecting world peace. Therefore, opposing war and protecting peace has become the focus of all issues and more than ever it has been, is and is becoming more urgent for the lives of nations and peoples."

The workshop focused on discussing major urgent issues such as climate change and energy security prospects; regional conflicts and migration; the fight against terrorism; lessons from World War II... Most of the opinions expressed agreed that, in the face of current global challenges, no country or group of countries in the world can cope on their own, but all progressive forces in the world need to join hands and unite to deal with these challenges of humanity.

At the conference, the delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam had a private and intimate exchange with Mr. Sergey Mironov, Chairman of the Just Russia Party, Head of the Just Russia Party parliamentary group in the Russian State Duma. On behalf of the delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Phong warmly congratulated the Russian people on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War; and congratulated the Just Russia Party for successfully organizing this important international conference.

For his part, Mr. Mironov highly appreciated and respected the participation of the delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam; warmly congratulated Vietnam on the 40th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, the 70th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day; praised the heroic struggle in the past and the achievements in building and defending the country today of the Vietnamese people.

He affirmed that the Just Russia Party strongly supports the strengthening of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Russian Federation, attaches importance to developing relations with the Communist Party of Vietnam and considers this an important political foundation to, together with state diplomacy, further develop the Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership./.
