According to the statistics, the number of applications to Vinh Medical University this year increased sharply to 10,166, while applications to economics, construction, and transportation universities decreased.


According to compiled data, Vinh Medical University still leads the list in terms of the number of applicants, with an increase of over 2,000 applications compared to last year. Of these, the nursing program received 2,674 applications, and the general medicine program received 3,516. According to Mr. Nguyen Manh Ha, Head of the Professional Education Department of the Department of Education and Training, the number of applications at the university is expected to increase by another 2,000, as many applicants from Thanh Hoa, Ninh Binh, and Ha Tinh provinces have registered for Vinh Medical University, but these applications are compiled by the Departments of Education and Training of those provinces.

Meanwhile, some schools saw a sharp decline in applications. For example, Nghe An College of Economics received only over 1,073 applications, a decrease of nearly 3,449 compared to last year.

Additionally, the number of applications for teacher training programs at teacher training colleges and Vinh University increased slightly, mainly in early childhood education programs. Teacher training colleges received 2,575 applications, an increase of 76 compared to last year, including 1,085 applications for early childhood education. Vinh University received 1,204 applications for early childhood education out of a total of 16,770 applications.

This year, Vinh University maintained a stable number of applications: 367 for Mathematics Education, 112 for Physics Education, 227 for Chemistry Education, and 304 for Primary Education. However, only 16 applications were received for Computer Science Education. With this number, the university will likely struggle to open classes for this program this year. It is known that for the past two years, Computer Science Education has not had enough students to open classes.

This year, the fields of finance and banking, economics and finance, and construction and transportation have seen a sharp decline in applications due to the sluggish job market in these sectors in recent years. Therefore, according to the Department of Education and Training's summary, most candidates registering for the exam are still following societal trends rather than having a clear direction based on their own abilities and strengths.

According to statistics from the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An province, the number of applications to schools in the northern provinces was 28,531, accounting for 39%; the southern provinces had 11,530 applications, accounting for 16%; and the central region had the highest number with 33,229 applications, accounting for 45.3%. This shows that candidates from the province are aware of their own abilities, avoiding top-tier schools and choosing schools near their homes for convenience and cost savings.
