Raising 2 children but still selling drugs

(Baonghean.vn) - When the police raided the house to execute an arrest warrant and conduct an emergency search for illegal drug trafficking and possession, Thuy did not resist and accepted being handcuffed.

In block 8, Ben Thuy ward (Vinh city), everyone knows the family of Dau Thi Thuy. Although she has 2 children, Thuy did not take care of building a happy family and raising her children. Instead, Thuy sought "white death" to earn illegal income.

In 2011, Thuy was sentenced to 15 months in prison by the Provincial People's Court for illegal drug trafficking. More heartbreakingly, after being released from prison, Thuy's two children followed in their mother's footsteps, entering prison one after another for illegal drug trafficking. The greatest source of encouragement, but also a source of hardship for Dau Thi Thuy at that time, was having to raise two grandchildren of eating and school age, left behind by her only biological son.

In 2015, disaster struck when Thuy's husband died in a traffic accident. After her husband passed away, Thuy struggled to feed her two grandchildren and visit her two children who were serving sentences at Prison Station No. 3 and Prison Station No. 6 (Ministry of Public Security).

Instead of overcoming the harshness of life, Thuy thought of buying and selling “white death” like before. Thinking and doing, Thuy went to find drugs to buy and sell retail to those in need in Vinh City and neighboring districts. Since then, Block 8 has become a hot spot for drug abuse.

Dau Thi Thuy's behavior did not escape the eyes and ears of the masses, causing public outrage. Many petitions from the masses sent to the Vinh City Police Department of Investigation accused Dau Thi Thuy of drug trafficking, causing disorder in social security in the area.

Faced with the above complicated situation, to ensure security and order, the leaders of Vinh City Police established a special project codenamed 916H, assigned to the Drug Crime Investigation Police Team to deploy the plan and solve the case. During the process of ambushing and monitoring, the detectives had enough basis to confirm that Dau Thi Thuy was a "dealer" specializing in retailing drugs to drug addicts in Vinh City and Nghi Xuan District (Ha Tinh).

Learning from past experience, after buying the “goods”, Thuy buried them underground, and dug them up late at night, dividing them into small retail packages, but never carrying the “goods” on her person, but leaving them at the base of a tree by the roadside or in a bush. Then Thuy waited on the street, only letting addicts come and get the drugs when they had given her enough money.

Knowing the above trick, the plan to catch this sinful woman in the act was unanimously implemented by the Vinh City Police leaders to solve the case. On September 11, 2016, knowing for sure that Thuy was illegally storing drugs in her house, the Task Force decided to solve the case.

After a night of ambush, at around 5am the same day, the task force suddenly raided Thuy’s house, surprising her. During the search, the authorities seized 30 grams of heroin that Thuy had buried in the front garden of her house.

The Vinh City Police Department has initiated a case, prosecuted the accused, and decided to detain Dau Thi Thuy for 3 months for the crime of illegal drug trafficking. During the days sitting in the detention cell, Thuy expressed regret when thinking about the future of her two grandchildren, what would happen to them… without the care of her parents and grandmother.
