(Baonghean) - Not only has he risen to enrich his family, but this Party member also actively shares his business experience and readily provides livestock to poor households in the village to develop production and gradually escape poverty. This is the example of Comrade Moong Pho Ngoc, a Khmu ethnic minority member in Khanh Thanh village, Nam Can commune, Ky Son district.

Moong Pho Ngoc was born in 1967 into a poor Khmu ethnic family in Khanh Thanh village, Nam Can commune, Ky Son district. Understanding that the nomadic farming practices of the Khmu people were the root cause of persistent poverty, Moong Pho Ngoc consciously pursued education from a young age, determined to shift his production methods, abandoning the nomadic farming practice. He boldly borrowed money from the bank to invest in raising four breeding cows. In 1998, he invested in breeding cows, but due to a lack of experience in disease prevention and control, it was unsuccessful. Despite the failure, he did not give up and went to Muong Xen town (Ky Son) to meet with veterinary officers to learn how to treat cattle. Since applying scientific and technical methods to livestock farming, Moong Pho Ngoc's herd has grown steadily. To date, he owns a farm with over 50 cows, 30 goats, and hundreds of poultry. In addition, he combines this with protecting and cultivating nearly 25 hectares of forest, and cultivating short-term crops, ensuring a year-round supply of produce. Moong Pho Ngoc's family earns an annual income of 150 to 200 million VND or more.

When his family's life improved, Moong Pho Ngoc began helping people escape poverty. Seeing that Mrs. Me Thi Van Di's family in the village was extremely poor due to lack of capital, he gave them a cow. After two years, the cow gave birth to a calf. Mrs. Van Di said: "My family was very poor, we lacked food all year round. But since Mr. Ngoc gave us the cows to raise, our lives have improved. I am very grateful to Mr. Ngoc." Moong Pho Ngoc also provided cows to many other households in the village and commune, enabling them to raise cattle effectively. Notable examples include the families of Mr. Moong Pho Phuong and Mrs. Moong Me Thiem in Khanh Thanh village, and Mr. Cut Pho May in Noong De village, Nam Can commune. Each household received between 3 and 4 million dong in support from Moong Pho Ngoc. Furthermore, he actively shared his production and livestock farming experience with many other households in the commune. Sometimes they spread the word at community meetings, other times they trek through mountains and streams to reach individual households to guide them on farming and livestock raising, especially the techniques for producing hybrid corn varieties and preventing diseases in livestock and poultry.

On the other hand, Moong Pho Ngoc is also a leader who always fulfills his assigned responsibilities well. Having risen through the ranks from a village official, he now has 16 years of service and currently holds the position of Vice Chairman of Nam Can Commune. Comrade Moong Pho Ngoc shared: “I always strive to complete the tasks assigned by the Party and the State. When I return from work, I go to the farm to take care of the livestock and plants, while also protecting the forest under the contract.” Thanks to his help, Khanh Thanh village, which was once 100% poor, has now reduced the number of impoverished households by nearly 50%. Comrade Hờ Chống Nhìa - Chairman of the People's Committee of Nậm Cắn commune, said: “Comrade Moong Phò Ngọc is very responsible and has a high level of economic development expertise. Thanks to Comrade Ngọc, not only the people of Khánh Thành village, but also other villages in Nậm Cắn commune have learned from and followed his scientific and effective approach to economic development, production, and livestock farming. The commune Party Committee highly appreciates Comrade Moong Phò Ngọc.”

For his family, Moong Pho Ngoc is also an exemplary husband and father, raising his children to be successful adults. His eldest daughter has graduated from Vinh Pedagogical University, his second daughter is a secondary school teacher, and his three younger children are all studying at vocational schools and universities. Comrade Moong Pho Ngoc's family life is always full of happiness and has consistently achieved the title of "Culturally Exemplary Family" for many years. The example of a model cadre and Party member who knows how to legitimately enrich himself, and who loves and helps people escape poverty, like Comrade Moong Pho Ngoc – Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nam Can Commune – is worthy of emulation by many other cadres and Party members in nearby and distant villages.
