Djokovic defeats Murray to win Qatar Open.
The Serbian star delivered an impressive performance to defeat Andy Murray in the Qatar Open final with a score of 2-1: 6-3, 5-7, 6-4.
As expected, the Qatar Open final between the two top contenders was very exciting. Despite being somewhat at a disadvantage in recent encounters, Novak Djokovic entered the match confidently.

The second seed got off to a strong start with a 6-3 victory in the first set. Despite missing three match points in game 10 and losing the second set 5-7, Nole remained undeterred.
The former world number one played exceptionally well in the deciding set to win 6-4, thus defeating Murray with an overall score of 2-1: 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 after nearly three hours of competition.

"Defeating a big opponent like Murray to win the championship is a fantastic start to a new season. I worked hard to win every point and tried to control the match with a strong playing style to achieve victory," Djokovic said.
While Murray expressed considerable disappointment despite the loss not costing him his world number one ranking, he said, "It's hard to swallow a defeat. A top-level match demands consistent performance and a very high level of physical fitness. I will come back stronger in future tournaments."
Besides successfully defending his Qatar Open title, Djokovic also ended Murray's streak of 28 consecutive wins at ATP tournaments.
