The next dangerous situation came in the 15th minute, Tuyet Dung headed the ball in an open position but it went straight to the Thai goalkeeper. From here, the Vietnamese team controlled the game and Thailand was forced to send striker Taneekarn Dangda onto the field but played in the midfield position.

In the second half, the best chances started to belong to the Thai team. In the 48th minute, the opportunity belonged to striker Taneekarn Dangda but this midfielder finished right at the position chosen by goalkeeper Kim Thanh.

In the 52nd minute, from a cross from the left wing, Taneekarn Dangda jumped high and headed the ball into Kim Thanh's net, but the goal was disallowed due to an offside. Not long after, coach Mai Duc Chung decided to take Nguyen Thi Van off the field to make way for Pham Hai Yen.

In the 72nd minute, the best chance for the Vietnam team was created. Bich Thuy escaped down the right wing and then crossed the ball to Huynh Nhu. The Vietnamese women's team striker tried to head the ball but it went wide of the Thai goal.
