Defeating U17 Binh Phuoc on penalties, U17 Song Lam Nghe An won a ticket to the semi-finals

U17 Song Lam Nghe An entered the quarter-finals with a perfect record in the group stage. Coach Phan Tien Hoai's students scored 5 goals and did not concede any.

Facing U17 Nghe An in the quarter-finals is U17 Binh Phuoc. The opponent only has 4 points and is ranked 3rd in Group A. Therefore, it is quite understandable that U17 Song Lam Nghe An is rated much higher by experts than the opponent.

The superiority of coach Phan Tien Hoai's team was shown as soon as the opening whistle was blown. Nghe An U17 immediately organized attacks on the goal of Nguyen Dang Huy Bao of Binh Phuoc. The mobility of Quang Vinh, Le Dinh Long Vu, Pham Nguyen Quoc Trung created a completely overwhelming situation against the opponent. However, the number of clear opportunities that Nghe An team created in the first 45 minutes of the match was not much.

Entering the second half, U17 Song Lam Nghe An continued to be the team that dominated the game. In order to create a fresh look on the attack, coach Phan Tien Hoa decided to put the 15-year-old striker Tran Quoc Hoa on the field. This decision immediately brought clear opportunities for U17 Song Lam Nghe An. In the first 10 minutes of the second half, U17 Nghe An had at least 3 situations that could have opened the score. However, Pham Nguyen Quoc Trung, Le Dinh Long Vu and Tran Quoc Hoa were all quite unlucky in front of Binh Phuoc's goal. Especially Le Dinh Long Vu's opportunity. After receiving the ball from Quoc Hoa, No. 16 Song Lam Nghe An had a face-to-face with goalkeeper Nguyen Dang Huy Bao. Long Vu used his technique to fool the goalkeeper, but his final shot hit the post, missing the opportunity to break the deadlock for the yellow team.

To limit the attacking power of U17 Song Lam Nghe An, U17 Binh Phuoc concentrated a large number of players in front of their penalty area. They did not hide their ambition to bring the match to a series of risky penalty kicks. And despite trying very hard to deploy many approaches to the opponent's goal, due to a day of bad luck, the Nghe An strikers could not score against Nguyen Dang Huy Bao.

At the end of 90 minutes, the two teams tied 0-0. This result forced the two teams to decide the winner on the 11m mark. With the spirit of the team ranked higher, U17 Song Lam won 4-3 in the penalty shootout.

Coach Phan Tien Hoai's team will advance to the semi-finals and face the winner of the match between U17 PVF and U17 Hoang Anh Gia Lai.
