Suicide bombing in Iraq kills 25 people.
At least 25 people were killed and 60 injured in an attack on an outdoor campaign rally in the central Iraqi city of Baquba on April 6, two weeks before local elections.
Iraqi officials said that before a suicide bomber detonated a bomb he was carrying, a gunman threw a grenade into a crowd attending a campaign rally in the city, located about 60km from the capital Baghdad.

This is a campaign by supporters of Muthanna Ahmed Abdulwahid, a Sunni candidate from the Azimun Ala al-Bina party – a small local party.
Abdulwahid was unharmed in the attack, but the death toll could rise.
No organization has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, but this type of bombing in Iraq is often carried out by insurgent groups, including al-Qaeda members.
Recently, violence has frequently occurred in Iraq targeting candidates ahead of the local council elections, scheduled for April 20th.
According to estimates by the French news agency AFP, at least 12 potential candidates have been killed in campaigning leading up to the election.
In March alone, at least 271 people were killed – the highest number since August 2012. This was the first election in Iraq since 2010 and took place after US forces withdrew at the end of 2011.
