Why "beat" Trung Nguyen to pieces, who benefits?
“No matter what happens, Vu and his colleagues will continue to work together to preserve and develop Trung Nguyen for coffee beans, for the Central Highlands, for the country's agriculture, for millions of Vietnamese people, as Vu has been doing and is still doing,” said Ms. Pham Chi Lan.
Why "beat" Trung Nguyen to pieces?
Economist Pham Chi Lan continues to share frankly about the scandal between Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu and Ms. Le Hoang Diep Thao.
Emphasizing the role of a Vietnamese brand, she said: “The value of the Trung Nguyen coffee brand is even greater when we see that many other major agricultural products of Vietnam are still struggling to build their brands. Vietnamese rice is so large in scale but is still exported in raw form, without many rice products to create added value, and is still worried about building its own brand. Or Vietnamese pepper, accounting for 50% of the global supply but the export is still a product without a brand. The same goes for shrimp, fish, and seafood, the turnover is very large but there are only a few prominent names and the export is mainly frozen or pre-processed goods, with little added value. Looking more broadly at the industrial and service sectors, we see the same thing. Therefore, a brand like Trung Nguyen is a very valuable asset, not only for the company or the owners of Trung Nguyen coffee company.”

Unfortunately, there was a dispute over management rights within the company. The matter was brought to the legal authorities for consideration and handling, but it has not been resolved because one party has not agreed. However, Ms. Lan believes that the legal authorities have sufficient evidence and legal basis and will continue to resolve it in accordance with the law. “I really hope that the case will be resolved soon, so as not to affect Trung Nguyen's operations,” she said.
There is no basis to talk about any conspiracy!
Discussing the recent noisy information in the press about Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu and Mrs. Le Hoang Diep Thao, Ms. Lan said that there is no basis to talk about any kind of conspiracy. “However, one-sided and unbiased reporting, in my opinion, is something that should not be done to any business, and especially not to a national brand like Trung Nguyen. When writing and reporting news like that, do those newspapers think about the possible consequences for tens of thousands of coffee farmers and tens of thousands of people working in processing and service for Trung Nguyen?
So what is the point of “beating” Trung Nguyen to pieces, and who is it beneficial to? Meanwhile, our country’s businesses and economy are currently facing so many challenges, there are so many things that are a thousand times more worth talking about and writing about so that we can work together to overcome them, why not focus on that?”, Ms. Lan expressed.
According to economic experts, it is even more inappropriate to publish private family conflicts in the press in a one-sided manner, even if requested or accepted by the information provider. When publishing the story of a family member in the press, do the newspapers think about the other person, the pain of the four children and other people on both sides of the family, their relatives and friends?
Also, don't think that putting one side's voice in the newspaper is a way to force the other side to speak up, otherwise people will have the right to infer that the silent person is wrong and cannot argue. To be silent or to speak up is the right of each person, only the court has the right to force the person to speak up, and we must respect that right and cannot arbitrarily infer. And in the end, if you don't want your own family story to be in the newspaper like that, don't want outsiders who don't have enough information to judge your family's story, then please don't do that to others.

Dang Le Nguyen Vu - the king of Trung Nguyen coffee |
"Someone also told me that perhaps someone wanted to help Ms. Thao in her business strategy by bringing up her personal story and internal conflicts in the family to gain support. I really do not appreciate such a strategy. The business world is full of strategies and competitive tricks, including dirty tricks, but business also has its ethical aspects, and healthy, fair competition is the long-term solution for businesses," the economic expert emphasized.
Giving a special advice to the “king of Trung Nguyen coffee”, Ms. Lan said: “I hope and believe that, no matter what happens, Vu and his colleagues will continue to firmly work together to preserve and develop Trung Nguyen for coffee beans, for the Central Highlands, for the country’s agriculture, for millions of Vietnamese people, as Vu has been doing and is still doing. I always respect and trust Vu.”
