Comedian Chien Thang calls for help because of death threats

Night of July 4thComedian Chien Thang contacted a VietNamNet reporter and said he was very stressed and worried because a group of people threatened to kill him.

Comedian Chien Thang said: "My friend called and asked, why are you so talkative these days, even participating in buffalo fighting and such. I was surprised and asked why, my friend sent me a Facebook link with the name Chien Thang. This link posted an article talking about stopping violent festivals, including the buffalo fighting that just caused a death in Do Son, Hai Phong."

Comedian Chien Thang also said that after going to the Facebook page that a friend sent him, he read all the comments below. He was startled to see so many comments cursing and swearing, some of which threatened that if Chien Thang returned to Hai Phong to perform, he would be 'killed'.

"Not only that, I also received phone calls with no end in sight, cursing and threatening to ban me from performing in Hai Phong" - the comedian said.

Chien Thang confirmed that there is a facebook fanpage named after him that is managed by a unit. In fact, they also invited him to collaborate, but the comedian has not worked with this unit for many years.

"I have asked that fanpage to remove all links that are not in line with my spirit and not to use my name to write statuses to attract views anymore. If the owner of that fanpage does not cooperate, I will ask for the police's intervention" - comedian Chien Thang said.
