Comedian Thuy Nga: 'I became famous after just one night of live television'
Comedian Thuy Nga admitted that she became a ticket seller after just one night of being broadcast live on television.
Appearing on the show “Weekend Stories”, comedian Thuy Nga shared about her career. Thuy Nga said that at first she applied to the Theater School because she wanted to be an actress and loved art, not because she wanted to do comedy. However, while studying at school, she participated as a supporting performer for several comedy groups, and her seniors recognized her talent and invited her to join the group.

“First, I joined the Thanh Long Tre group. In the first skit, I acted with artist Thanh Long. I played the role of an old woman from the countryside who entered a beauty pageant. I didn’t expect that skit to be so successful and popular.
At that time, I was not famous yet, but wherever I performed that skit, people would laugh out loud and clap their hands. I don't understand why people liked it so much" - Thuy Nga said.
Thuy Nga shared that when she first graduated, she acted in long plays in some places, but there were many stars at that time such as: Hong Van, Thanh Loc, Ngoc Giau's mother, Hong Nga's mother... "I was very happy just to play a small role. But because there were so many stars, our generation did not have much room to show their talents" - Thuy Nga said.
Looking at the current reality, Thuy Nga said, it is not as difficult for young actors to have the opportunity to express themselves as before.
“Nga thinks that being a comedian nowadays is easier than it is difficult. For those who have real talent, they develop on their Youtube channel. They do it themselves, develop themselves and are accepted and recognized by the online community as comedians. Thus, the way for us to express ourselves and attract attention is much easier than before. The important thing is to do it well and with class.
For our generation, performing on stage or with “stars” is something to be proud of and happy about. When we are invited to a big stage to collaborate, the feeling is even better than winning the lottery.
That day, I was lucky to be on a live TV show. After that night, I was a ticket seller. Ms. Hong Van told me that the audience came to Phu Nhuan stage and asked Thuy Nga if she would perform. I felt lucky to become famous overnight" - Thuy Nga said.
