This demonstrates the quality and labor of the long-time skilled craftsmen in Quynh Hung commune (Quynh Luu). Thanks to that, in 2011, the Provincial People's Committee recognized Thuan Giang and Nam Thang carpentry villages as two provincial-level civil and fine art carpentry villages.

Carpentry in Quynh Hung commune (Quynh Luu) creates jobs for nearly 600 workers.

Quynh Hung is a purely agricultural commune, with 35% of the population following Christianity. The commune has long been famous for producing skilled, hard-working carpenters, with skillful hands and creative minds who have created wooden products that "conquer" the tastes of customers near and far. Since 1978, villages specializing in wooden furniture production have been formed in the commune. Up to now, both Thuan Giang and Nam Thang craft villages have invested in modern, environmentally friendly machinery. Every year, the craft villages create jobs for many local workers with an income of over 5 million VND/person/month, contributing to promoting local economic development and improving the quality of life of the people.

Visit Thuan Giang Craft Village, where there are 181 workers working in carpentry. Here, with all ages working, each person is diligent in one job: Some chisel, drill, etc.; some carpentry, grinding... urgently and bustlingly. Thuan Giang Craft Village has been established for a long time, but since 2005, carpentry in Thuan Giang has only begun to develop, starting with families working in the craft researching designs, refining sculptures to develop the craft in the village.

They traveled all the way to the northern provinces to visit and learn, then returned to their villages to teach each other. Gradually, the craftsmen began to create high-end handicraft products, made of good quality wood. The reputation spread far and wide, now, Thuan Giang wooden handicrafts are not only diverse in types and designs, durable in materials but also very reasonably priced; continuously receiving orders from all over the country.

Mr. Lam Hoa, owner of the woodworking workshop in Thuan Giang hamlet, shared: The craftsman must always consider each delicate carving, know how to be creative, and apply uniqueness in the handicraft products, only then can he maintain his reputation and retain customers for a long time. The carpentry profession develops, attracting a large number of customers to visit and shop, people have jobs and stable income, improving their lives. At the same time, it helps women in the commune and a large number of young workers who work as sculptors; reducing the worry about social order and security in the area.

Ms. To Ngoc, Nam Thang craft village, confided: Carpentry really helps women in the commune contribute to improving their family life, giving them the conditions to take care of their children's education. Compared to agricultural production, the income of nearly 5 million VND/month/person from carpentry is quite good.

Lathe worker earns 5-7 million VND/month.

Comrade Pham Trung Thien - Chairman of Quynh Hung Commune People's Committee said: "Revenue from carpentry is hundreds of billions of VND each year. Creating jobs for nearly 600 local workers. This is a profession that brings a fairly stable economic income to families, from 5 to 7 million VND per month, contributing to improving life, bringing the average income per capita of Quynh Hung commune to 29 million VND/year. The commune has also planned the craft village production area far from residential areas; the planned production area belongs to Hamlet 1, so that carpentry workshops can confidently develop their profession, produce more high-end products and increasingly affirm their brand in the market.
