Dani Alves could join Juventus this week
Along with the Mascherano deal, the Serie A champions are also very close to recruiting Barca's Brazilian super right-back.
Italian press yesterday unanimously announced that Juventus and Dani Alves are about to complete a two-year contract. The contract stipulates the salary that the employee will receive.
The 33-year-old Brazilian will earn $5.5 million a year in Turin, plus performance-related bonuses, with an option for a one-year extension.
Dani Alves is still tied to Barca until the summer of 2017, but according to the two-year contract signed in the summer of 2015, he can unilaterally terminate his contract with the Nou Camp team before June 5 to become a free player. Italian newspapers claim that within two or three days at the latest, Alves will become a Juventus player. Both sides want to finalize the deal early so that the veteran Brazilian defender can rest assured to go to Copa America 2016 which starts in the US this weekend.
"I can confirm that the negotiations with Dani Alves are on the right track and I am satisfied. We are very optimistic about the prospects of the deal being successful,"Juventus General Director, Beppe Marotta psing the above songSkySports Italy:
From Coverciano, where the Italian team is gathering to prepare for Euro 2016, Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini also sent a message welcoming Dani Alves: "Hopefully he will reach the Champions League final again, but this time, with Juventus' shirt."
Rumors that Daniel Alves is about to join Juventus are also reinforced by a source from the Italian newspaper La Republica that the Brazilian defender's girlfriend, supermodel Joana Sanz, has just signed a contract to work for a fashion brand in Italy.
Juventus have a tradition of signing experienced players for low or no fees. They had success with Patrice Evra, the left-back who arrived on a free after being released by Manchester United, and hope to reap similar positive results with Dani Alves.
In parallel with the Alves deal, Juventus are also negotiating with Barca about Mascherano. The Argentine defensive midfielder is said to have agreed all personal terms with the Italian champions, but the problem lies in negotiating the transfer fee.
Barca wants $33 million, while Juventus does not want to pay more than $22 million for Mascherano.
