“When I first pulled the eel out of the cave, I saw that it had a different shiny yellow color compared to the other eels. I was startled, but I tried to calm down to bring the eel into the house and weigh it. It weighed more than 500 grams and was 90cm long. I found the eel so strange that I kept it in a jar to watch,” said Mr. Lang.
Hearing that Mr. Lang had caught a strange yellow slippery eel, many people in the neighborhood came to see.
Recently, some people in the Western provinces have caught yellow eels weighing from a few hundred grams to more than 1kg. Many people believe that these may be eels with genetic mutations.
