International standard pilot training in Vietnam

The project aims to meet the needs of aviation human resource development, especially pilot training, in Vietnam towards 2020.

On September 15, in Cam Ranh City (Khanh Hoa), Vietnam Aviation Academy held a ceremony to launch the Pilot Training Center and the flight training phase of the project "Upgrading Vietnam Aviation School".

The Vietnam Aviation School Upgrade Project, including the Pilot Training Center, was implemented with ODA capital from France under the protocol between the two countries in 1994-1995.

The project is implemented to meet the needs of aviation human resource development, especially pilot training, in Vietnam towards 2020 and is the first step of the program to build a national pilot training center according to international standards.

To date, all training equipment and aircraft have been assembled, tested, calibrated and successfully conducted test flights.

Since June 2012, the center has coordinated with Vietnam Aviation Academy, Bay Viet Training Joint Stock Company, Vietnam Airlines Corporation and ESMA Aviation Academy (France) to organize practical flight training for the first 23 students in Vietnam.

The first single flight for Vietnamese civil pilot students was also successfully carried out by the center in early September 2012.
At the ceremony, Deputy Director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam Luu Thanh Binh also granted a license to organize training for civil aircraft pilots to the center.

According to General Director of Bay Viet Joint Stock Company Nguyen Nam Lien, the establishment of the center is an important milestone of the project to support the development of Vietnam's aviation industry with effective technical support from the French Aviation Academy.

On September 9, 23 pilot trainees were granted flight certificates. This is the first pilot training course conducted domestically by the Vietnamese civil aviation industry./.
