Stabbed to death while taking child out: Was the victim beaten by a gang?

Late afternoon of February 22, regarding the murder case of a father taking his child to the park and being stabbed to death, speaking with Dan Tri reporter, a representative of Duc Hoa District Police (Long An province) said that the suspect involved has been handed over to the Long An Provincial Police Investigation Agency for further investigation and handling according to authority.

Still in shock as a direct witness to the case, Mr. Sau (a resident living opposite Hau Nghia town park, Duc Hoa district, next to the town police headquarters) recounted: "At around 5:30 pm on February 21, many people brought their children to play and relax at the park."

People were shocked by the murder that caused the victim's sudden death and confirmed that Mr. Bao was beaten by a group of people and then stabbed to death.

According to Mr. Sau, he suddenly heard a loud shout from an old man selling lottery tickets, "Let him go, are you kidnapping a child?" Along with the shout from the woman selling lottery tickets, Mr. Sau saw a man sitting on a motorbike pulling a little boy (about 2 years old) onto his motorbike, but the boy was reluctant to get on.

At that time, another man was sitting on a motorbike waiting for his wife to sell cosmetics to a woman selling sweet soup in the park. Witnessing the incident, he ran over and beat the suspected kidnapper, even though the man kept explaining that it was his son and that he was calling him home.

“However, the man who appeared to be drunk did not listen and continued to beat the man mentioned above, whom I later learned was the victim Le Hoai Bao, the child's father,” said Mr. Sau.

The old lady selling lottery tickets did not expect that her shout about the suspected kidnapping incident would cause the tragic death of the young father.

Mr. Sau added that, although many people present said that it was not a kidnapping, that it was Mr. Bao's son who was being called home by his father because his mother was waiting for dinner, the man still aggressively attacked him. A moment later, 5 more men with tattoos appeared on motorbikes and together attacked the victim.

According to Mr. Sau, at that time, the victim had enough strength to run away to avoid the unwarranted beating, but he still tried to stay and look for his son. When one of the group members grabbed his neck and delivered a series of brutal blows, the father collapsed on the street. Immediately, the man who initially caused the trouble ran to open the saddle, pulled out a dagger, and rushed to stab the victim, causing him to collapse on the spot.

Although he was later taken to the emergency room, doctors determined that the victim had died before arriving at the hospital.

“The group of young people mentioned above are all bad elements, drug addicts in Hau Nghia town. I suspect they used crystal meth, which is why they committed such a murder,” said Mr. Sau.

Several other witnesses present at the park at the time of the murder, such as Mrs. Tam and Ms. Th., also confirmed that the victim Bao was beaten by a group of 5-6 people, after which Dien pulled out a dagger from under the motorbike seat and stabbed him multiple times, leading to the tragic death of the gentle father.

On the afternoon of February 22, Dan Tri reporters contacted Duc Hoa District Police to clarify the above information. However, the district police officer on duty said that all information related to the case is being clarified by the Provincial Police Department's Investigation Police Department.

The leader of Hau Nghia town People's Committee confirmed that the victim was Mr. Le Hoai Bao and the suspect who directly stabbed Mr. Bao to death was Nguyen Ngoc Hai Dien, residing in area A, Hau Nghia town.

Hien Dien has been arrested and transferred to Long An Provincial Police to assist in the investigation; at the same time, clarify the subjects involved in the act of "Murder".
