Traffic police caught carrying drugs on person while going out for Tet
While on duty to control alcohol levels, the traffic police team discovered and arrested a subject carrying drugs while "going out on the streets" on the 4th day of Tet.
At noon on February 1, Traffic Police Team No. 6 (Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police) led by Major Tran Phuong Tien carried out the task of controlling alcohol concentration as planned at the Nguyen Khanh Toan - Nguyen Van Huyen intersection (Quan Hoa ward, Cau Giay district, Hanoi).
At around 1:20 p.m. the same day, while the task force was on duty, they discovered a man driving a motorbike with license plate 29X3-110.XX with an unclear appearance. As soon as he saw the traffic police checkpoint, he braked suddenly and turned around to run away.

Faced with the above situation, the traffic police task force quickly organized a blockade, controlled the people and vehicles and brought them to the control position for clarification.
The test results showed that the man had no alcohol concentration but was anxious and trembling with fear. Through professional measures, the police discovered a foil package containing a powdery substance suspected to be drugs in the subject's pocket.
During the on-site struggle, the suspect's identity was clarified as Nguyen Thai H. (born in 1978; residing in Cau Giay district, Hanoi). This suspect also admitted that the evidence the police seized from him was heroin he was carrying for use.
The working group has prepared an initial profile and handed over the subject and evidence to Quan Hoa Ward Police for further investigation and handling according to regulations.
