"The country is looking forward to young intellectuals returning to contribute"

Emphasizing the viewpoint of "contributing where you can best develop your skills", Mr. Nguyen Dac Vinh also hopes that young intellectuals will return to contribute because the country is lacking human resources. Young intellectuals, be confident in yourself!

In a letter sent to the online dialogue between the Central Secretariat of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the youth, Ha Minh Ngoc, a graduate student majoring in Chemistry at the East China University of Science and Technology, Shanghai, China, confided: “If in wartime all people in general and young people in particular are always ready to sacrifice themselves for the Fatherland, then in peacetime they are always full of enthusiasm, have many ideas for work and are always ready to contribute to the stability and overall development of the country.

No young person wants to leave their beloved home, their lover, their family and friends. In their heart, no one wants to go far away to receive loneliness, hardship in studying and researching, and then return with disappointment because they cannot develop the knowledge they have learned. After all the efforts, the only wish of those who study and research with real capacity is to have a place to return to, to have a suitable working environment to work and contribute more to society.

Also concerned about appropriate treatment for young intellectuals who have studied and trained abroad and want to return home to have the opportunity to contribute, Tran Huu Tri, a student in Texas (USA) wondered: How do the Youth Union agencies treat intellectuals from overseas students, especially those who are self-funded and not included in the resource planning?

Responding to this concern of young intellectuals, Mr. Nguyen Dac Vinh, member of the Party Central Committee, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, said that for the postgraduates and overseas students that he had met, he found that most of them were highly qualified. “You should be confident in yourselves. You are capable people, you should return to your country. I believe that you can absolutely compete,” said Mr. Vinh.

Mr. Nguyen Dac Vinh said that recently, many students returning from overseas have joined the Central Youth Union and have integrated quickly, completing their work very well. “The Central Youth Union welcomes you very much. As for planning, it must also be based on the actual situation, which is based on your contributions and development, not on where you are.”

Patriotism must be shown properly everywhere.

Many overseas students are also concerned about how young union members currently abroad can properly express their patriotism. Mr. Nguyen Dac Vinh believes that Vietnamese youth everywhere need to properly express their patriotism. For young union members studying abroad, the simplest way is to study well and soon become good human resources for the country.

“We have made clear the viewpoint of the Party and the State, that is, wherever you can best develop, you should contribute there. However, the human resources in the country are in great shortage. And if you study well, you become good experts, high-quality human resources of the country, the country really hopes that you will return to contribute. The country is on the path of development and we really need human resources like you. I believe that patriotism first lies in studying well and researching well,” Mr. Vinh shared.

According to Mr. Vinh, we have a Vietnamese community abroad, let's build that community to be truly united, truly strong to support each other, that is also one of the ways to express patriotism. "When we have the conditions, let's express our patriotism publicly, in a pure way. Patriotism itself is a very precious, very sacred thing for each of us."
