(Baonghean) - These days, passing through the raw material area of TH Milk Food Joint Stock Company, you will see a vast field ablaze with the golden color of sunflowers. According to Master Nguyen Le Thang - Crop Management Officer of the Company, sunflower plants, with their porous core and upright yet soft stems, are very well adapted to the soil of Phu Quy. In 2012, the Company began experimentally planting sunflowers in Nghia Dan district.

Initially, about 2 hectares were planted, and this year's autumn-winter crop has expanded to 30 hectares. Sunflower plants have a short growing season, from sowing to harvest in 90 days, with flowering occurring after about 55 days. This is the time when sunflowers create a unique characteristic rarely found elsewhere in Vietnam. Sunflower plants not only supplement a rich source of nutrients and minerals for dairy cows but also contribute to TH Company's ability to secure a reliable source of raw materials and create a difference in its milk production and processing, which adheres to a high-tech, fresh, and clean production process.

Recent events have shown that sunflowers are not only valuable in the experimental production and processing of feed for dairy cows. The vibrant sunflower fields are creating a unique impression on anyone who visits Phu Quy. From a marketing and brand promotion perspective, nothing could be better than tourists being captivated by the vast golden sunflower fields whenever they travel along the Ho Chi Minh Highway. According to Mr. Le Van Can, an administrative officer and head of external relations at TH Milk Food Joint Stock Company, in recent times, no fewer than 1,000 people have visited the sunflower fields daily to capture images and moments of these sun-facing flowers. Very quickly, some households in the surrounding area also seized the opportunity to set up services such as parking, selling drinks, etc. According to Master's degree holder Nguyen Le Thang, sunflowers can be grown three times a year, and the formation of an area to serve tourism and service needs is entirely feasible.
