In addition to the support of the Youth Union and BIDV Bank, there was also the contribution of officers and soldiers of Ky Son District Police. Welcoming us to the new spacious house, Captain Vo Trong Hung - an officer of Trung Phuc Cuong Commune Police, Nam Dan District could not hide his joy and emotion, because from now on, his family will no longer have to live in the old, dilapidated house. It is known that Hung was born and raised in Long Xa Commune, Hung Nguyen District in a family with especially difficult circumstances, his brother was affected by Agent Orange, when he was 6 years old, his mother passed away. Currently, he, his wife and two young children live in an old house, which is not safe, and his wife's income is unstable. Understanding the situation of Comrade Hung's family, Nam Dan District Police and Nghe An Provincial Police proposed and received attention from the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security and the "Comradely Love" Fund, supporting the construction of a house of gratitude with a budget of 100 million VND.

The work of building and repairing houses of gratitude in the police force is an activity that Nghe An Police has always paid special attention to and directed in recent times. Accordingly, every year, the Provincial Police include this content in the resolution and work program, considering this as one of the contents to evaluate the emulation movement of the Police of units and localities.

In addition, the Provincial Police have assigned organizations and unions to carry out volunteer movements, gratitude, charity, humanitarianism, and building gratitude houses for union members and members inside and outside the Nghe An Police force so that the movement can be spread widely. Thereby, helping officers and soldiers realize the profound humanitarian meaning and importance of gratitude work in building the People's Police force, contributing to encouraging thoughts and supporting officers and soldiers in difficult circumstances to stabilize their lives and successfully complete their assigned tasks.

In addition, units inside and outside the People's Police force have also supported the construction of many new gratitude houses worth hundreds of millions of VND...

"When people need it, it's hard to find police"

The advice of General To Lam - Minister of Public Security has been applied very effectively and meaningfully by Nghe An Police in social security and charity activities, with many diverse and rich forms. In particular, the spirit of determination and "lightning speed" to complete the construction of 3,553 houses for the poor and people with housing difficulties in 27 communes of 6 border districts in the province is considered a special highlight.

As a poor household in Tan Lam village, Ngoc Lam commune, Thanh Chuong district, for Mr. Vi Van Binh (born in 1945) and his wife, daily life was inherently too difficult and hard when they did not have enough food and clothes, so the dream of a new, sturdy house was too far away. And then that dream became a reality when his family was one of the households approved to build a new house from the funding mobilized by the Ministry of Public Security.

After just over 2 months of construction, the spacious house was completed to the great joy of the couple. Meticulously cleaning the family's mementos to move into the new house, Mr. Binh emotionally shared: "I can only say thank you to the Party, the government and the police force for helping my wife and I turn our dream into reality. So from now on, my family will no longer have to worry every time storms and floods come..."

Her husband passed away and her children work far away. For many years, Ms. Lo Thi Hoi (born in 1940), residing in Son Ha village, Tam Quang commune, Tuong Duong district, has been living alone in a dilapidated, leaky house, causing her neighbors to feel sorry and sympathetic. On the day she received her new house, Ms. Hoi choked up and was speechless because at her age, she never dared to think that one day she would be able to live in such a solid house. She said that with a new house, this year her children and grandchildren from far away will come home to celebrate Tet, and she will feel warmer...

Mr. Vi Van Binh and Ms. Lo Thi Hoi are just 2 of thousands of disadvantaged people in Nghe An province who have received houses of gratitude from the Ministry of Public Security. To effectively implement this humane policy, in addition to contributing funds, the police force also directly presided over, constructed, and built prefabricated houses for the people. In particular, the police of various units and localities mobilized over 3,000 officers and soldiers along with local people to support the transportation of raw materials through difficult and rugged terrain to complete the house construction ahead of schedule.

3,553 houses were built, once again affirming the deep concern of the Central Public Security Party Committee, the Ministry of Public Security and Nghe An Public Security in joining hands with the political system to care for and improve the quality of life of people in remote border areas. Thereby, contributing to strengthening the close relationship between the police force and the people in the cause of ensuring national security, maintaining social order and safety.

Social security work in the Nghe An Police force is also clearly demonstrated in the pioneering spirit, shock troops, leading in volunteer movements, solidarity and prevention of natural disasters and epidemics. Remember the time when the Covid-19 epidemic broke out and became extremely complicated, the Nghe An Police mobilized the maximum force to overcome the sun and rain with the people to prevent and fight the epidemic; at the same time, mobilized all resources to support people to overcome difficulties in life.

During storms and floods, the image of soldiers wearing the People's Public Security uniform "returning" to the fields to help people harvest rice to escape the flood or carrying the elderly and children to evacuate to safe areas becomes so beautiful. For them, the spirit of "Serving the People" is an order from the heart, never and nothing can change or alter...

In particular, responding to the call of the Provincial Party Secretary, with the spirit of "Joining hands for the poor - Leaving no one behind", every year, Nghe An Police mobilized officers and soldiers to mobilize all resources to support the poor to celebrate Tet with billions of VND; during the 2024 Lunar New Year, the Provincial Police donated nearly 6.5 billion VND. In addition, the Police of units, localities and organizations and unions such as the Youth Union, Women's Union, and Trade Union also coordinated with organizations and individuals to directly carry out many activities to support people to celebrate Tet.

Talking about the social security and charity work of Nghe An Provincial Police, we cannot fail to mention the power of sharing and love from the "Living Blood Bank" Club, headed by the Provincial Police Youth Union Executive Committee, with more than 450 members. After nearly 3 years of establishment (May 2021), up to now, the Club has mobilized more than 100 blood donations, emergency platelet donations, promptly resuscitating more than 100 patients through critical conditions.

In addition, the Club has advised on organizing 11 humanitarian blood donation programs throughout the Provincial Police, thereby mobilizing the donation of more than 2,150 units of blood to the Provincial Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center. After each "red drop" was given, not only was 1 patient saved but it also contributed to beautifying the image of Nghe An Police soldiers in the hearts of the people.
