Signs of clogged fuel filter
After a period of use, the car's fuel filter may become clogged, so a car fuel filter helps to filter the fuel cleaner.
In the vehicle's operating system, gasoline is calculated to be injected precisely and economically while still helping the vehicle achieve optimal power.
According to professional recommendations, the fuel filter should be checked regularly and replaced every 2 years or after 50,000km of operation to ensure the vehicle always operates at its best.
Here are some signs that your car's fuel filter is clogged:
Gasoline consumption
Not only is it difficult to start, jerks and makes unpleasant noises, a clogged fuel filter also makes the engine consume more fuel than usual. The reason is that the fuel filter is clogged, so the amount of fuel supplied to the engine is uneven. When there is not enough fuel, the engine is difficult to start and loses power, reducing power. When there is too much fuel, it does not burn completely and is discharged, causing waste and environmental pollution.
Strange knocking sound from the machine
If after the engine has started and a minute has passed since it has warmed up, you still hear a noise coming from the engine compartment, like a clanking or “ticking” sound, it could be a sign of a clogged filter.

The cause is due to the filter being clogged or too dirty, causing insufficient fuel to enter the engine, causing the pressure in the engine head to drop, reducing the combustion chamber pressure and creating a knocking sound that is very unpleasant to hear when starting the engine.
When the car has this condition, it is best to handle it as soon as possible, take the car to the garage to have it checked and cleaned or replace the fuel filter.
Car won't start or starts but won't run
When you start the car and find that it won't start, it's likely that the fuel filter is too dirty and gasoline can't pass through to the combustion chamber.
Specifically, when you try to accelerate, the car will make a reluctant popping sound from the engine due to lack of fuel. Or the car is difficult to start, takes a long time to start and does not start smoothly, or starts, but the car cannot move as if it is lacking fuel.
The reason is that the fuel filter is clogged, so the amount of fuel passing through it is small and not enough to provide the necessary level for the engine.
To get the car running, you should press the accelerator several times to increase the pumping force, to provide enough fuel for the car to run. After that, you should go to the maintenance center to fix the car's condition.
Cannot accelerate
Every time you press the accelerator, fuel is sent to the engine to increase the speed of the car. However, a clogged filter causes insufficient fuel to be supplied to the combustion chamber, causing the car to slow down.
As a result, the car accelerates slowly or cannot accelerate and cannot go fast. In this case, replacing the filter is the best solution.
Engine out or out
External detonation is a phenomenon where the combustion process does not take place in the cylinder but outside the engine, right in the exhaust pipe. In this case, you will see sparks flashing out of the exhaust pipe. Or the combustion phenomenon does not continue continuously, some cylinders explode, some cylinders do not explode, called misfiring.
When these situations occur, the vehicle naturally does not have enough power to maintain steady motion.
Because the fuel filter is clogged, the amount of fuel going into the engine is uneven. When there is not enough fuel, the car will run out of power. When there is too much fuel, it will not burn completely, and will be released through the exhaust pipe and burned outside the engine, causing an external explosion.
The lack of fuel also causes uneven supply to the engines. In addition, the phenomenon of misfiring is not mainly caused by a clogged fuel filter, but can also be caused by a malfunctioning ignition system.
