After losing a fight with another adult elephant for a mate, an elephant from the “Wild Elephant Valley” reserve in Yunnan Province took out his anger on a total of 19 cars parked on the road on February 13 and 14.

Fortunately, the elephant attacks did not result in any human casualties. As for the vandalized cars, the owners will be compensated by the sanctuary for the damage.

According to the staff working in the reserve, this elephant was a lonely elephant and was in its reproductive period. This caused the animal to “change its nature” and become aggressive. However, many other factors also affected the elephant’s psychology, one of which was the presence of many tourists in the reserve during the Lunar New Year holiday.

The “Wild Elephant Valley” is a famous tourist area in Yunnan, a province near the border with Myanmar and Laos. This reserve is famous for its diverse flora and fauna, including nearly 250 wild Asian elephants.
