Traces of the Soviet movement in Nghe An homeland
(Baonghean.vn) - More than 90 years have passed, time may have erased many things but the mark of the Nghe Tinh Soviet movement (1930 - 1931) is still deeply imprinted in the minds of the people of Nghe An and the whole country. Because the vestiges of the revolutionary movement of the past are still preserved in the revolutionary homeland.
Impressive collections
MovementNghe Tinh Sovietis considered the first general rehearsal of the Vietnamese revolution under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam. This historical event took place more than 90 years ago but still remains in the hearts of the people of Nghe - Tinh in particular, and Vietnam in general. Because, many documents and artifacts related to the movement are being preserved and displayed at the Nghe Tinh Soviet Museum.

The Nghe Tinh Soviet Museum currently displays and preserves nearly 16,000 documents and artifacts collected over decades. Notable among these are collections of artifacts bearing the boldhistorical value, contributing to demonstrating the arduous, sacrificial but extremely glorious struggle of the people of Nghe - Tinh.
The collections of artifacts include: Drum collection, mechanical collection, weapons collection, newspaper and leaflet collection and collection of documents and artifacts signed by Uncle Ho in 1964.

Attract the most attention and interestvisitorsis a collection of 11 red flags with hammer and sickle, the symbol of the working class and peasantry that led the people of the whole country, especially the two provinces of Nghe - Tinh to rise up in struggle. Among them, there is the flag of the people of Luong Son village, Bac Son commune, Dang Son commune (Do Luong district) used to encourage the masses to participate in demonstrations and struggles.
The flag was also used in the ceremony to admit outstanding people who actively participated in the Nghe Tinh Soviet movement. Next to it was the flag used by the revolutionary masses in the demonstrations in Thanh Chuong district. The red flag was given by the Tien Hoi Party Cell to comrade Nguyen Van Long, a liaison officer, to hang on the top of the banyan tree in the villages before the demonstrations.

In particular, the collection includes the red flag of the Hung Nguyen District Party Committee used in the memorial service for those who died.sacrificewhen participating in the demonstration on September 12, 1930 in Thai Lao. The memorial service was held in Dam Dong - Lung in Phu Xa village (Phu Long commune), where many people died in the demonstration.
Along with the hammer and sickle red flags, the drum collection used to encourage people in the regions to rise up in rallies and demonstrations of the Nghe Tinh Soviet movement are truly artifacts of great historical value.

The collection consists of 8 artifacts of different sizes, large and small, although old but still preserved quite intact. Although the quantity is not much, the collection has contributed to reflecting the strong fighting spirit of our people in the revolutionary movement of 1930 - 1931.
The museum also preserves a large number of artifacts which are the fighting weapons of the Red Self-Defense Forces, including 230artifactThereby, fully reflecting the activities of the Self-Defense Force in the Nghe Tinh Soviet movement.

At the same time, the collection of 660 artifacts hidden from Party cadres also contains great spiritual value, demonstrating the deep affection of Nghe Tinh people for the Party and the revolution despite all difficulties and dangers...
Traces of a time of struggle
Besides tens of thousands of documents and artifacts being preserved and displayed at the museum, the system of historical relics associated with the Nghe Tinh Soviet movement in the province is a vestige of a period of fierce and intense struggle.
SystemrelicsThese relics have always been protected, restored and embellished by the Party, the State and the people, most of which have been ranked at the national and provincial levels. Each relic is a "red address", the pride of a homeland rich in patriotic traditions.

Among them, we must mention the Ben Thuy Intersection relic (Vinh city), which marks the demonstration on May 1, 1930 of more than 1,200 workers and farmers demanding wage increases, reduced working hours, land division, and tax reduction. Here, for the first time, the red flag with hammer and sickle flew, the enemy suppressed, killing 7 people, injuring 18 people, and arresting hundreds of others.
The Nghe Tinh Soviet Square in the center of Hung Nguyen district is also a typical relic, the name itself reveals its entire meaning. This is the place that marks the struggle of the people of Hung Nguyen and the surrounding areas, and also the place that witnessed the crimes of colonialism and feudalism.

On the morning of September 12, 1930, about 8,000 farmers under the leadership of the Party, with rudimentary weapons, raised high the red flag with hammer and sickle and marched to Hung Nguyen district capital. When the protesters had just arrived at Thai Lao, the French colonialists dropped bombs on the crowd, killing 217 people, injuring 125 and arresting many others. The graves of the martyrs were scattered among the mounds, and were later exhumed and built into a common grave.
In the districtThanh Chuong, the Nguyen Duy family temple, Nguyen Ich family temple and the Dien Trang sui tree (Thanh Phong) have always stood firm and majestic through the ups and downs of history. This place was chosen by the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee as a base of operations during the Nghe Tinh Soviet period. The two temples were used as meeting places and for printing documents, while the sui tree was chosen as a place to hide documents.
