Investing in upgrading the Vietnam-Korea Vocational College of Technology.

(Baonghean.vn) -On the afternoon of February 20th, the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting with the delegation from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) to sign a Memorandum of Understanding for the Vietnam-Korea Industrial Technical Vocational College upgrade project. Also present were Mr. Le Xuan Dai, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with representatives from several departments and agencies.

The Vietnam-Korea Industrial Technical Vocational College upgrade project has a total value of US$7.6 million, of which US$6 million is from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) budget and Nghe An province will contribute US$1.6 million in counterpart funding. Implemented over a 36-month period from 2014 to 2016, the project is expected to focus on six main areas: consulting on operational management, constructing practical workshops, providing necessary equipment for vocational training, sending Korean experts to participate in teaching, training teachers, and developing training materials. The project aims to upgrade the college into a high-quality vocational school in the North Central region, with six key vocational programs reaching international and ASEAN standards. It also aims to gradually strengthen and develop the college into a technical university training practical engineers, offering programs at all three levels: university, college, and intermediate.

Vice Chairman Le Xuan Dai presented a gift from the Provincial People's Committee to Ms. Nam Il Woo, Deputy Chief Representative of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Vietnam.

During the meeting, both sides provided feedback and agreed on the detailed contents of the project as outlined in the draft memorandum of agreement. The Provincial People's Committee will compile and revise the draft so that both sides can agree on and sign the memorandum of agreement, which will then be submitted to the two governments for project approval.
