On the first day of Spring, the weather was sunny and clear, and crowds of people flocked to Gam Pagoda in Xuan Thanh Commune, Yen Thanh District, bustling and bustling. People came to the pagoda to burn incense to find peace and a sense of relaxation in their souls, praying for a Spring and a New Year of health, peace, prosperity, and bountiful harvests.

Phan Hao - a 12th grade student at Phan Dang Luu High School said: "The feeling of going to the pagoda at the beginning of the year is very peaceful. My friends and I go to the pagoda at the beginning of the year to ask for words, to learn more about Buddhism, the beauty of spiritual culture and pray for all good things to come to me and everyone."

With the beauty of the culture at the Buddhist gate, although the number of visitors is large on the first day of Spring, but with the scientific arrangement of the temple abbot and the awareness of everyone, there is no chaos, jostling, burning money, burning votive paper, burning incense everywhere. Each stream of people go to the temple in excitement but solemnity, reverence and sacredness. Each person has a sincere wish, wanting to express their respect to Buddha and ancestors.

It is known that Gam Pagoda (Chi Linh Tu) has long been a famous spiritual cultural complex. According to historical records, Gam Pagoda worships the gods who have contributed to protecting the country and the people: Cao Son, Cao Cac, Sat Hai Dai Vuong Hoang Ta Thon, Tam Toa Dai Vuong, Tu Vi Thanh Nuong. Gam Pagoda has an architectural style, sculptures, patterns and motifs that are identified as Buddhist architectural works of the Truc Lam sect.

Every year, during the Gam Temple Festival held from February 14-16 (lunar calendar), tens of thousands of visitors from all over the country come to visit and worship the temple.

Currently, the People's Committee of Nghe An province has allowed the restoration of Buddhist activities at Gam Pagoda, and at the same time built a Zen monastery, the Truc Lam sect with the largest scale in the North Central region. The project has a total planned construction area of ​​316.575 hectares in the territory of Xuan Thanh and Tang Thanh communes, including 5 main areas: The original relic site is located at Chi Linh Pagoda (Xuan Thanh).

On April 4, 2015, at Ru Gam, Xuan Thanh commune, the stone laying ceremony for the construction of Truc Lam Yen Thanh Zen Monastery and the groundbreaking ceremony for the An Quoc Great Buddha statue took place. Currently, this spiritual project is preparing for completion.

After completion, the project will be a place to preserve many unique and valuable Buddhist documents and cultures, serving everyone who wants to learn about Buddhism. In addition, it will create more eco-tourism landscapes, meet the spiritual and cultural needs of the people, preserve, promote and continue the ideology of the Truc Lam Zen sect.
