Voter Pham Phuoc Nhu expressed his views at the voter meeting. |
At the meetings, in the spirit of democracy and frankness, voters recommended that National Assembly deputies and central ministries and branches step up the fight against corruption and the practice of seeking positions, power, crimes, and transfers...
Regarding the issue of building new rural areas, voters reflected many shortcomings in the locality.
That is, investing in building cultural houses costs a lot of money, but operates ineffectively. Building markets in every locality is a waste, many new rural communes have been recognized but people's lives have not changed much.
Voter Pham Phuoc Nhu (Tan An ward, Ninh Kieu district) suggested reviewing the criteria for new rural construction such as building cultural houses. "We have to calculate how, because now we require large scale but no one goes there," Mr. Nhu explained.
Besides, there is the criteria for markets in the new rural program. Mr. Nhu analyzed: "We already have markets but we continue to build them on too large a scale, wasting money."
Mr. Nhu suggested reviewing the criteria and removing any unnecessary ones. Regarding the criteria of bridges, roads, and schools, voter Nhu said they were very necessary.
Environmental issues also "heated up" at voter meetings.

Voter Hoang Son proposed many environmental issues |
Voter Lam Hoang Son suggested: "If our locality is poor, we have to worry about projects and jobs. However, due to our level of understanding, we see immediate benefits but not long-term benefits and losses, so we do many projects without foreseeing the consequences. I think we need to recalculate economic efficiency and the National Assembly also needs to strengthen its voice and supervisory role on environmental protection issues."
Large projects such as the Formosa Ha Tinh factory that pollute the environment, other factories that are about to come into operation such as the Lee & Man paper factory in Hau Giang or many coal-fired thermal power plants in the Mekong Delta need to review their planning and closely monitor environmental regulations. We cannot let short-term benefits affect long-term benefits.
The National Assembly Delegation of Can Tho City acknowledged the enthusiastic contributions of voters, synthesized and presented these contents in the upcoming National Assembly session./.
