Industrial production and export value grew quite well.

2019 is a pivotal year for implementing the goals and tasks of the Resolution of the Party Congresses at all levels. The Industry and Trade sector has promoted positive results in recent years, proactively implemented the tasks of 2019 and achieved important results.

Industrial production value is estimated at 67,665 billion VND, reaching 98% of the planned target, up 16.4% compared to 2018. Added value of the industrial sector is estimated at 17,650 billion VND, up 14.92% compared to 2018.

Of the province's 35 main industrial products, 11 are expected to exceed the planned target, some products have increased significantly compared to the same period: Cement increased by 51%, white stone powder increased by 54%, all kinds of clothing increased by 48%, electronic components increased by 33.33%, fertilizer increased by 7%,... thanks to the contribution of some new investment projects (textiles, electronic components) and effective exploitation of the invested capacity of projects in the previous year (white stone powder, cement).

Industrial infrastructure development continues to be focused on. In 2019, 2 more industrial clusters were added to the planning, bringing the total number of industrial clusters planned for development in the province by 2020 to 52 with a total planned area of ​​1,119.32 hectares.

Export activities have improved a lot.Total export turnover reached 1,145 million USD, exceeding 5% of the plan, up 10.2% compared to 2018, of which: Export turnover of goods is estimated at 795 million USD, up 10.42%. Import turnover is estimated at 730 million USD, exceeding 21.7% of the plan, up 41% compared to 2018.

Estimated total retail sales of goods63,400billion VND, exceeding 5.84% of the plan, up 18.06% compared to 2018, commercial activities in the area are bustling, goods are diverse and abundant.

Trade promotion, supply-demand connection, development support, brand and product promotion are enhanced with many diverse forms. Industrial promotion and industrial development consulting, e-commerce development, industrial-commercial infrastructure development, hydropower development are focused and have made breakthroughs.

Speed ​​up projects to increase production value.m

In 2020, the Industry and Trade sector set a target of industrial production value (GSS 2010) reaching 80,000 billion VND, up 18.2%. Total retail sales of goods reached 70,000 billion VND, up 10.41%. Total export turnover: 1,200 million USD, up 9.09%, of which goods export: 850 million USD, up 6.92% compared to 2019.

In his concluding remarks at the conference, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee Le Hong Vinh acknowledged the achievements of the Industry and Trade sector. 2020 is the decisive year for the implementation of the goals of the 5-year Socio-Economic Development Plan 2016 - 2020, therefore, in the coming time, the sector is requested to continue to focus on directing the implementation of Resolution No. 26-NQ/TW of the Politburo on the direction and tasks of developing Nghe An province until 2020 and the Resolution of the 18th Nghe An Provincial Party Congress.

Focus on advising the Provincial People's Committee to promptly remove difficulties and obstacles so that projects can accelerate their progress and come into operation in 2020 to add to the newly increased production value. Promote the mobilization of resources to invest in building key infrastructure for the Industry and Trade sector: Industrial cluster infrastructure, power supply infrastructure, power transmission infrastructure, high-tech science and technology application projects, environmental protection in the field of industrial production; commercial infrastructure system, goods distribution system.

Strengthening trade promotion, connecting supply and demand, supporting businesses and units to develop, promote brands, apply e-commerce... to improve competitiveness and production and business efficiency. Boosting exports, especially processed products with high added value, gradually reducing exports of raw and semi-processed materials...
