Promoting lifelong learning movement in families, clans and communities in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of April 9, the Association for Promotion of Education and the Provincial Association of the Elderly held a signing ceremony for the Program to promote lifelong learning movements in families, clans, and communities in Nghe An, period 2018 - 2021.
The Association for Promotion of Education and the Association for the Elderly are two social organizations that share the responsibility for implementing the Resolution of the 18th Nghe An Provincial Party Congress on supporting and encouraging the development of school education, and taking care of conditions to expand opportunities for continuing education for the elderly.
Currently, the whole province has 68% of the members of the Association for Promotion of Education being elderly people, 1,250 elderly people participating in management, teaching and guidance work at community learning centers. From the coordinated movement of the two associations, 327,000 learning families, 4,860 learning clans, and 480 community learning centers have been built. Thanks to that, 60 billion VND has been mobilized for the Fund for Promotion of Education at all levels/year.

In order to promote the effectiveness of its activities, in the period of 2018 - 2023, the Association of the Elderly and the Association for the Promotion of Education will continue to sign a program to promote the lifelong learning movement in families, clans and communities in Nghe An. In particular, it will focus on promoting information and propaganda activities on the Party and State's guidelines and policies to implement the nationwide campaign to build a learning society.
In addition, expand and improve the quality of learning and talent promotion activities, support the development of scale and improve the quality of education and training in the continuing education system; set an example in building learning families and clans; build an adult learning network in all residential areas in the province.
At the same time, participate in consulting, monitoring, criticizing, and evaluating policies, strategies, and measures for educational innovation. Create conditions to help and support each other to develop the two associations in a broad and strong manner from the provincial to the grassroots level, opening up forms of exchange and sharing of work experiences between associations at all levels and members.
