The Embassy of Vietnam in China and the General Department of Tourism organized a program to promote tourism in the Chinese market.

The Vietnam Tourism Roadshow aims to promote the image, destinations and tourism products of Vietnam to Chinese tourists. This is an activity to implement the National Tourism Promotion Program 2015, held from October 19 to 25 in 3 major cities of China: Beijing, Chongqing and Chengdu.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan, General Director of the General Department of Tourism (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) emphasized that in recent years, the cooperation between the two sides has achieved many encouraging results in many different fields, including tourism cooperation. Many meaningful tourism cooperation activities promoted by the two governments have achieved good results.

In 2014, Vietnam welcomed 1.9 million Chinese tourists, an increase of 2.1% compared to 2013, accounting for more than 24.7% of total international visitors to Vietnam. In 2014, there were 1.7 million Vietnamese tourists to China, an increase of 25% compared to 2013.

Chinese tourism businesses are interested in learning information about Vietnam tourism.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan said that he will prioritize more resources to promote and advertise Vietnamese tourism in the Chinese market, because information about Vietnamese tourism to Chinese people is not much, so the number of Chinese tourists coming to Vietnam is not as expected.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan also expressed his confidence that with rich tourism resources, many natural heritages, tangible and intangible heritages recognized by UNESCO, along with friendly people, always welcoming friends from all over the world to Vietnam. In addition, with many types of tourism serving many different types of tourists, Vietnam's destinations will certainly satisfy Chinese tourists.

The organizers hope that through activities promoting and promoting Vietnamese tourism in the Chinese market, they will help Chinese tourism management agencies and tourism businesses better understand Vietnamese tourism, and increase the attraction of Chinese tourists to Vietnam. This is also an opportunity for tourism businesses of the two countries to meet and seek cooperation opportunities to continue to promote the exploitation of the tourism potential of the two countries.
