Intensify the dissemination and promotion of "The Tale of Kieu".

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued Decision No. 3897/QD-BVHTTDL approving the content of the Project on promoting and publicizing the work "Truyen Kieu" by the great poet Nguyen Du.

Accordingly, the work "Truyện Kiều" will be promoted through various performing arts, especially traditional Vietnamese art forms that have been recognized by UNESCO as a cultural heritage of humanity.

Alongside these activities, "Truyện Kiều" is also introduced through other forms such as book exhibitions, calligraphy exhibitions, publications; and the dissemination of audio and video recordings of performing arts based on the content of this work.

In conjunction with the 250th anniversary of the birth of the great poet Nguyen Du as part of the 2015 cultural activities, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will continue to promote the work "Truyen Kieu" (The Tale of Kieu) to affirm the merits, talent, and honor the special contributions of Nguyen Du to Vietnamese culture and humanity in the coming years.

This is the first time Nguyen Du's masterpiece "Truyen Kieu" has been extensively promoted through various forms and new perspectives. This activity also contributes to traditional education, enhancing aesthetic appreciation and national pride, especially among the younger generation; actively preserving, promoting, and exploiting heritage values; honoring national history and culture; and giving the people and international friends a better understanding of a long-standing culture with a strong national identity, the soul of a great nation, and a land of outstanding people and historical significance.

Regarding the objectives of the Project, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will organize the adaptation and creation of lyrics from the content of "Truyen Kieu" (The Tale of Kieu) based on folk melodies, musical pieces, folk performing arts, and traditional puppet shows.

The works will include distinctive art forms and those recognized by UNESCO as world cultural heritage, such as: Cheo, Cai Luong, Nghe Tinh folk songs, Quan Ho folk songs, Bai Choi folk songs, Ca Tru, Hat Van, Hat Xam... The Art Council will advise and recommend ways to improve the artistic quality and evaluate all programs, works, and performances before they are performed, disseminated, and promoted to the public.
